There he was standing in the corner holding a glass of wine with one hand. Pareho silang naka side view sa akin.

I studied the lady he's talking to.

She was beautiful. She looked undeniably sexy wearing that tight red dress. Nakalugay ang maalon niyang buhok. She was tall but I'm taller. She has a nice butt, but mine's bigger. Her boobs, well obviously since hindi ako gifted mas malaki ang sa kanya.

Teka lang ha. Why am I comparing myself to her?

Inalis ko ang atensyon sa kanila. Paglingon ko sa table namin, nakita kong papunta si Jasper sa aming pwesto. Napansin ko ang matalim na tingin ni Maddy sa pinsan ko.

"Couz." bati niya nang makalapit. "Looking great tonight. You caught almost everyone's attention. Head turner ka talaga kahit kailan."

Lumaki naman ang ngisi ko sa puri niya. "And you're here?"

"I'm with someone." tumingin siya sa malayo. "Yung bestfriend ng debutante, she invited me."

Mahina akong napatango. "Uhuh one of your girls." typical Jasper Spade.

Inemphasize ko yung letter 's' para tingnan ang reaction ni Maddy and heck yeah! I got what I wanted. Nahuli ko siyang mabilis na umirap.

"Balik na ako, baka hinahanap na ako. Sayaw tayo mamaya couz ha." he winked at me but before that he glanced at Maddy.

She was no longer looking at Jasper, her eyes were elsewhere. These two really hate each other! But I will make sure that, that bitterness will turn to something sweet.

Lumingon ulit ako kung saan si Kieffer, he was still talking to that woman. Sino ba siya? Ba't ang tagal nilang mag-usap? What are they even talking about?

Kinuha ko ang table napkin at kinusot saka tinapon kay Lorianne na busy sa pagse-selfie. Huminto siya sa ginawa niya, giving me that questioning look.

"Who is she?" I pointed with my mouth.

"Dunno." she said clueless. "Ngayon ko lang siya nakita."

Nang lumingon ulit ako wala na sila. Then the lights grew brighter highlighting the debutante of the night.

Sa itaas kitang-kitang yung debutante na naka purple gown at nakalugay ang buhok. Dahan-dahan siyang bumaba sa hagdanan kasabay ang background music ng violin.

The spotlight was on her. Everyone's eyes was on her. With the way she walked and looked at the crowd. I remembered myself. She's just like me, completely spoiled by her parents.

She seems to get everything she wants. A princess like me. It made me worry, that wasn't a good sign.

Papa and mama gave me everything. I'll just name it and tada and'yan na. Sanay akong nakukuha lahat ng gusto ko. Binibigay kung ano ang hinihingi ko.

I hated not having what I want.

The world is changing. Everything is.

I lost two people that time. I wanted them, no I needed them, yet they left me. I did what I could to get them back but some people are just not meant to stay.

That's when I realized. I can't always have everything.

Pumwesto yung debutante sa harap saka naglakad papalapit sa piano bench. The crowd was silent waiting for her next move. Dahan-dahan siyang umupo at nagsimulang nagpatugtog.

She was obviously trained just by seeing how she expertly played that instrument with her fingers.
