NINETEEN

As soon as I stepped on the escalator, my phone rang.

I was having second thoughts whether should I answer it or not. I heavily sighed before dragging the green button to the right.

"San ka papunta?" he immediately asked.

"To hell." sarcastically, I replied, remembering how pissed I was at him.

"Evergreen." he gave a warning tone.

I hate it when he does that. "Supermarket."

"Anong bibilhin mo?"

"Just some stuffs... and food."

I stepped away from the escalator as it reached its end. Naglakad ako patungo sa grocery store habang nakalagay sa aking tainga yung cellphone ko.

"Like?"

He seemed to be in a crowd dahil sa maingay na background.

"Fruits and... depende sa makita ko."

"Don't spend your money on some useless stuff, okay?" he reminded.

A smile painted on my face. "Why do you even care? As if its your money."

I turned left when I passed by Sbarro, nasa tabi lang nito ang grocery store. Kumuha ako ng cart nang makapasok sa entrance.

"Still there?" I asked when he remained silent.

"Yeah."

Diretsong akong nagtungo sa fruit section. I took five apples and four mandarin orange.

"Buy me some grapes."

For a moment I stopped. 'Di kaya nandito siya? How did he know na namimili na ako ng prutas? But I did told him earlier na bibili ako ng fruits.

Yup, that could be it.

Kumuha ako ng dalawa. Isa ka kanya at isa kay Bliss. "Nasa cart na. Anything else po?"

I heard him chuckle on the other line. Crap that was sexy.

"May strawberries ba?"

"Wait, I'll check." naglakad ako ng tatlong hakbang bago nakita yung strawberries. "Meron, magpapabili ka ba kamahalan?"

He replied. "Opo aking reyna."

"Kakasabi mo lang to don't spend my money on some useless stuff, yet here you are may pinapabili, bayaran mo 'to."

I passed by some random stuffs napadpad ako sa isang area na may mugs. They had different designs in it and shapes. I liked the one that was kinda long, yet wide at the top.

Kinuha ko iyon at tiningnan. It had a little drawing of a boy trying to catch the balloon. I find it cute.

"Don't buy something useless."

Agad akong natauhan. I forgot he was there. "A mug isn't useless."

"But you already have many, at home."

"Sinong may sabing bibilhin ko? Tinitingnan ko lang naman." I countered defensively.

On the other side of it were a few baby stuffs. Pumunta ako doon. Kailan pa nilagay ang mga 'to dito? Unti-unti na silang naglagay ng ibang products dito. Siguro para sa mga emergencies kaya naglagay na rin sila.

"Baby."

Bakit parang boses ni Kief yun, pero hindi galing sa cellphone ko.

Before I could turn, an arm snaked around my waist. His chest touching my back and his chin placed on my shoulder. He was hugging me from the back.
