THIRTY FOUR

"Please tell me you're not obsessed with me."

I stared at him intently as he was looking at me with eyes of mixed emotions.

"Noon? Hindi ko alam, ang alam ko lang ginawa ko 'yon kasi gusto kong malaman ang kalagayan mo. Gusto kong alamin na naging maligaya ka pagkatapos ng nangyari. Gusto ko na palagi pa rin kita nakikita kahit sa litrato man lang. Pero ngayon hindi ako obsessed Evergeen, tinigil ko na."

"After I was eighteen." dagdag ko sa huling sinabi niya.

"I was twenty when I realized how childish it was."

I am still in doubt. Natatakot ako kaya tinanong ko na kung ano man ang bumabagabag sa'kin.

"You're really not obsessed with me? Your comeback has nothing to do with it?" just wanted to clear everything.

"Yes." he assured and came closer. "Please tell me you believe me. Sorry kung tinago ko ito sa'yo. Lahat ng sinabi ko ay totoo walang halong kasinungalingan."

I thought we agreed that no more lies and secrets.

Nanatili siyang nakatitig sa'kin. "I was scared you'd leave me kapag malaman mo ito. I look like a creep." he sounded disgusted of himself.

I took a step a forward and took held his hands. "Kieffer I'd still love you even if you were a creep." just don't get obsessed with me 'cause that's not right. "I have already accepted your past and your flaws the moment I loved you."

"Please tell me this will be the last. Ayokong may tinatago tayo sa isat-isa. You are not perfect but I love you for who you are, including your weaknesses."

He gently touched my cheeks. "I love you Evergreen Liangel Flickerwood."

I smiled widely as he spoke again. "What's with you today? Iyon ata ang pinakasincere mong I love you na may kasamang sugarcoated words."

Kinurot ko sa tagiliran. Langya talaga, binuhos ko na nga doon ang pagmamahal ko sa kanya.

Days passed and everything was smooth. Nagkikita kami ni mama ng ilang beses at sila rin ni Griffin. Minsan naman kaming tatlo ang magkasama. Si papa hindi masyado, he's still keeping his distance because mama is still married to someone.

Tama naman si papa, kami nga kapag magkikita nasa mansion lang. We're avoiding meeting outdoors kasi naman maraming tao.

Where there are people, there are lots of eyes.

And what people see, they judge immediately without knowing the real story.

Umiiwas lang kami sa gulo.

Three days ago Kieffer and I went to celebrate Bliss' and Nathan's birthday. The party was very grand, maraming mga kilalang tao na nandun.

The party was not only to celebrate the twins birthday, para din siyang welcome party for Bliss, to officially introduce her to everyone as part of the Rickerstridge family. Nakakatawa nga ang mukha ng ibang guests nang sinabi ng ama ni Nathan na twins sila ni Bliss.

I was surprised too when I learned Angel had a twin.

Bothered din ako dahil sa isang nakakapagtakang regalo na natanggap ni Bliss. Galing lang naman iyon sa kaibigan naming hindi na nagpapakita. Theo is really good at hiding, still can't find her until now.

"Happy Birthday!"

All of us greeted in unison as we celebrated Kieffer's twenty third birthday.
