“You’re what?!”

Dad screamed as I touched my cheek after he slapped me in front of Pax.

“I’m 6 weeks pregnant Dad.”

He’s not just angry, he’s outrageous. “I want that thing aborted immediately!”

“Dad it’s my child! Your grandchild. You can’t just decide to kill this like that.”

“That child will never be part of our family! Have that killed tomor-”

Not my child. “No.”

Once again, he raised his hand about to slap me when Pax tried to protect me. Niyakap niya ako patalikod kay Dad.

“Lia and I will raise the baby together. I’ll be the child’s father. We’ll move the wedding date closer. No one knows about this matter, just us.”

“There’s no need Pax. That child is a disgrace to our family.”

“Otosan, I meant what I said.”

Dad looked confused.

“Can we make it in three days?” tanong niya kay Pax.

“I don’t think so, five days maybe.”

“I was afraid you’d say seven. Wedding‘s in five days then. I’ll hire more people to fasten the preparation.”

I don’t care what dad will do to me next or what he’s planning to do with my child. I’ll protect my baby with my whole life even if it kills me.

I will keep my child. Whatever it takes.

It feels like I’ve been away from home for a year even though it’s just less than a month.

Pax and I still have a final venue walk through later at hair and make up trial ko.

“My mom booked our honeymoon.” he said while starting the engine.

That’s good, less hassle on my part but… “Are we really doing this?”

“What do you mean by that?” his eyes on the road.

“This, everything that’s happening right now.” …the wedding

He sighed. “Lia we’ve already talked about this. What is it now?”

Baka naman kasi may paraan pa. “We could stop the wedding.”

I’m afraid what the future has for me and my baby with the situation I’m in.

“We could never do anything from the beginning, you know that.”
