TWELVE

He's ashamed of what he did?

Is he saying that he regret what happened? That he's ashamed of me?!

"Alam kong marami kang gustong sasabihin. Let me drive." tumingin siya sa'kin. "I want us to talk in a quiet place."

The next thing I knew I was already seated at the front seat and him driving my car. Anong nangyari sa'kin at pinayagan ko siya?

I don't know where he's taking me. I think I got lost with my own thoughts.

Napansin kong nakarating na pala kami nang lumabas siya sa kotse at pinagbuksan ako. Pinagmasdan ko ang paligid at masasayang alaala ang bumalik. This was our meeting place.

Used to be.

The place was quiet indeed. There are houses but they're far from where we're standing. Makikita mo ang mga bahay tuwing dadaan ka palabas at papasok .

It was a meadow. A beautiful and peaceful meadow. Kapag nandito ka parang mawawala saglit ang mga problema mo. You get to appreciate the beauty of nature.

In the middle was a tree. That tree where we used to wait for each other.

"Did you wait long?" he asked.

I smiled. "Nope, I arrived five minutes earlier than you." when the truth is I waited for almost two hours, but I didn't want to see him frown.

"Tinapos ko muna yung assignment ko kasami ang ang aking group mates." sipag talaga nito, ako nga wala pang nasimulan kahit isa! Tinatamad kasi ako at saka 'di ako sanay na gumawa ng homework na 'di kasama sina Bliss at Theo.

What a nerd. But I love him.

"Your smile is telling me that you came not five minutes ago." crap. "Be honest with me." he leaned closer that I suddenly gave him a quick kiss.

Uhuh. Most of the time I do the first move. There wouldn't be an us right now if I didn't make the first move. He was too shy to confess his feelings first.

"Someone might see us." tumingin siya sa paligid, afraid someone might have saw that.

I smiled at him cockily. "Wouldn't that be fun?" why is this nerd so adorably cute?

"You shouldn't have come too early."

"I didn't."

Naglakad siya palapit sa puno at umupo doon. "Dumating ako ten minutes earlier sa pinag-usapan nating oras." he tapped the empty space beside him.

"Fine you got me." padabog akong umupo sa tabi niya sa ilalim ng puno. Can you blame me if I'm that excited to see him?

"'Di ka na naman gumawa ng assignment mo?" paano niya nahulaan?

I rolled my eyes at him. "Bukas na lang at saka after lunch pa naman ang Biology, so I can just answer it at lunch break."

"Akin na nga." bigla niyang kinuha ang notebook sa bag ko kaya 'di ko agad siya napigilan.

I tried to take it back pero tumayo siya. "Give it back! Kaya kong sagutin 'yan."

"I know you don't like Science." he smirked.

So what? "You know naman na mahilig ako sa cramming 'di ba?"

Pero hindi siya nadala! He raised it higher as I tried to reach it but he's way taller than me.

"C'mon Ever. I'll help you."

I bit my lip. If he won't stop, iiyak na talaga ako. "Kief naman. Alam kong matalino ka pero 'di ko sinasabing 'di ako matalino ha. I'm smart, tamad lang talaga. Pero kasi baka pag sagutin mo 'yan iisipin nila na kaya kita naging boyfriend kasi ginagamit lang kita."
