Chapter 20 "Going To Prison To Free A Friend"

It was now nearly evening. Everyone gather around the fire place to ask questions of today's events.

"Mai. What happen when I left?" Zuko asked his friend.

"Your father happen." She answered.

"What do you mean?" The Avatar asked.

"Well Fire Lord Ozai order an arrest on me, Ty Lee, and Azula. It was an interesting fight. Too bad it didn't last."

She took a deep breath and then began to explain the rest of the incident. "We went into this underground tunnel... and me and Ty Lee found one of Azula's secrets."

"What kind of secret?" Zuko asked.

Mai pulled out of small pink book from her pocket.

"This is one" she responded.

She gave Zuko the book. He flipped through the book to find a random page. He read it carefully. Suddenly his eyes shot open. He dropped the book and ran to the edge of the temple to vomit.

"Mind if I ask what the secret is?" Sokka asked.

"You don't want to know" said the disgusted Zuko.

"Anyways what else happen?" Katara asked.

"We all we betrayed by the Dai Li and the Fire Lord said that Azula failed blah blah blah. We got thrown in jail yada yada. I get brainwashed by the Dai Li and yeah that's pretty much it." Mai explained.

"Wait Azula and Ty Lee are in jail!" Zuko questioned.

"Yeah."

"Wait a second... if Azula is in jail, shouldn't that be good?" The Avatar asked.

"I don't know and I don't care! My sister and my friend are prisoners. And I don't think they are going to be accepted back into the Fire Nation. I think it's time we go on a field trip." Zuko's voice was determined.

"Hold up! I know you just joined by I don't trust your little girlfriend with knives! It could be a trap!" Katara reasoned.

"But she could help us!" Zuko shout defensively.

"SHE KILLED AANG!" Katara's voice was full of rage.

"Stop!" The Avatar shouted at the group. Everyone turned their attention at the Avatar.

"I know you guys don't trust Zuko. But what other choice do we have. I need a Fire Bending teacher! And Sozin's Comet is coming any day now. And we are going to need all the help we can get. And after hearing what Mai said. I think Azula will be on our side. And if don't want to come I understand, but I'm going to help Zuko."

No one answered.

"Fine then I'll see you later." The Avatar said as he left to get is equipment for this mission.

(2 hours later)

Aang, Mai, and Zuko were doing a last check on their supplies. Zuko was bringing his two swords, some food, a knife that Mai gave him, and few other things. Mai restock piled her knives. And Aang didn't have that much. The trio were about to hop on Appa but then someone was calling them.

"Hey guys wait up!"

It was Sokka. He was in is tribal war armor. And was equipped with his cosmic sword and boomerang.

"Sokka?" Aang wonder what is friend was up to.

"What are you doing here?" Zuko asked.

"I want to help. They might know where my dad is. And I'm gonna bust him out of prison." Sokka explained.

Aang smiled at his friend. Aang is glad that he wants to come along with them.

"Well then, APPA. YIP YIP!" Aang said as the Sky Bison took the skies.
