Peter was shy there was no doubt about it. Especially when it came to Michelle Jones or MJ as she liked to be called. Peter loved everything about her. From the way she didn't care about anything, how she wasn't afraid to stand up for what she believed in, how she always protected those around her, and how she always had a book in her hand not caring about the world around her except when she talked to Peter and Ned.

Peter was planning on asking her to go to prom with him but didn't know how. See, MJ wasn't an easy person to ask to go to prom with. In fact, she led on to believe she hated prom unless she went with people that she actually could tolerate. But Peter didn't know that. All he knew was that MJ probably hated prom and the idea of a promposal. Peter had asked his family the night before he was going to ask her but all they said was to grow a pair and just ask her. And so that what he did or at least tried to do...

*Time Skip by Tiny Stank the spider that lives in Peter's bedroom*

Peter sat at the lunch table fiddling with his hand under the table looking down. Peter was nervous about asking MJ out to prom.

What if she said no?

What if she didn't say anything and walked away?

What if he said no and never talked to him ever again?

"Hey, loser what's with the sad face?"

"I'm not sad!"

"Then why do you look like your puppy just got ran over."

"I do not."

"Whatever you say."

"Hey... MJ?"

"Yeah loser?"

"I w-was thinking that m-maybe y-you and I c-could go to p-prom t-together?"

"Sure, Spider-Man."

"Oh good - wait I'm not Spider-Man!"

"The mask sticking out of your bookbag says differently."

"Oops..."

"Yeah, you really need to learn how to keep secrets. Pick me up at 8. Bye, loser."

And with that Michelle walked away still reading her book leaving Peter bright red while Ned approached Peter after hearing the whole conversation with a smirk on his face.

I guess she does like me after all...
