The darkness swallowed up any sign of life, barely even letting the light from the moon sink into down into the ground.

A cat sat, looking at the moon, unaware that they were in the exact same spot that Firebird had been killed. After all, it hadn't been them who had brang back her body, and they could easily pass the dark red splotches on the ground for the blood of prey.

"Hello," a voice purred, making Pantherstar jump. "How are you, dear leader of mine?"

"What are you doing out so late?" Pantherstar asked, unaware that that had been what Shadowstar said before he met his ultimate death.

"Just wandering," the cat replied casually, padding forward. Raising an unsheathed paw, they licked the fur between their claws, making sure to move towards their leader discreetly.

Pantherstar sighed, looking down at the water. "That sure is a smart idea," she muttered, flicking her tail.

"Well, it definitely is when I don't need to worry," they sneered under their breath, raising the paw that they had been 'grooming.'

"Pantherstar!" The leader whipped around, curiously looking at the bushes. "Look out!"

The leader blocked the hit, snarling at her attacker.

"Catch me if you can~" they sang, running away gracefully.

Why would they betray me? I mean, their such a good warrior, that-- another cat barreled into her, knocking Pantherstar unconscious.

"Pantherstar! Pantherstar, can you hear me?!" the shadowed face of her savior looked down at her, which the she-cat couldn't see no matter what way she moved.

"What?" Pantherstar groaned, closing her eyes for a moment of completely black bliss.

"It's morning! We gotta go! Or else the clan will wonder where we both wandered off to..."

"Show me the way," the leader hissed, fantasising about tearing out her attacker's throat.

As they ran, the cat panted, "Do... you... remember... anything?"

Pantherstar shook her head, seeing the camp in the distance. "No. I think..." she scrunched up her face. "I think... I remember... a bit of... white fur...."

"Well then, I suggest you don't trust anyone with white fur from now on."

"Don't worry; I won't."
