Silver Rose

It's been a few days with Nikkou around. Vilkas has been training Farkas and Nikkou together. The three have also grown a bit close. Nikkou was still a flirt with the girls and the pups were always listening to his pack lure.

Ozul wanted no part in this. In his pack their customs were similar to ours:

We believe that when we die we have an endless hunt with Hircine. Hircine is the Alpha of all Alpha's and shared his Beast Blood with us. The Beast Blood to us is a privilege. The pack works together when needed. Nobody is better than the other but we listen to Alpha.

Nikkou's customs:

When the Bloodfrost pack die, they follow their spirit animal to a forest where they roam with their ancestors to help their descendents with choices. They are ruled by many gods and believe that Hircine is just a pup tale (wich makes us quite angry). They were born with their blood and it makes them all white wolves. When a different fur color is born they are casted out or shamed upon. Most of them hate their blood and are kicked out of not killed for it. They follow wolf customs. They have Alpha, Beta, scouts, hunters, mothers, warriors, a Shawman, messengers, a doctor, and an Omega. Their pack has many wolves to fill these jobs.

He always talks about his spirit animal. For him it's an owl. He claims to be able to see through the owl's eyes and says that his owl is on his way to join him.

Athis claims lies and can't stand Nikkou. I'm not to sure how I feel about him. He was intriguing and the pups loved him. He was trusted by Farkas and Vilkas. I have no choice but to respect their opinions. Athis is making a big claim to challenge them to go against Nikkou.

After hearing Nikkou's story about the hunters of his pack taking claim of a deer's life I was tired so I went to bed. I woke up the next morning and the wolves were all on my bed. The pups snuggled by my head and Snowy slept with Ozul at my feet. Arlilo was behind me and next to the wall. I carefully got up and began to make my way upstairs.

I heard a crash and ran up. Everyone was here by now. Athis had Nikkou pinned to the ground. They were in wolf form and fighting. Nikkou, being a bigger wolf, lunged for his leg and they were thrown into battle again. Farkas and Vilkas turned and launched into battle. Farkas got Athis and Vilkas got Nikkou.

Athis calmed down and he and Farkas shifted back. Nikkou followed and so did Vilkas. Athis began to growl again. Nikkou let his fangs show and growled. "What is the meaning of this!" Vilkas growled.

"This... Animal! He... Can we talk. In private." Athis growled. "You two, come." Vilkas growled. The two followed. If they were wolves they'd have their tails between their legs in shame.

-With Vilkas-

"She's not your mate! She's fair game!" Nikkou barked. "All this is over Ria?" I said. "I-I'm sorry, Vilkas. I let my wolf act for me." Athis said. "Athis. What did he say. Nikkou if you speak and lie you will be thrown out." I said sternly. Nikkou whimpered.

"He talked about claiming Ria as his mate and you've know for a while I planned to ask her. I was nervous she would chose him. I let my wolf take the best of me." Athis spoke. "Nikkou did say that. Bit it's Ria's choice not his. Nikkou challenged him by talking about his interest. In Nikkou's pack we fought for a mate." He said. Vilkas sighed. "It's up to Ria. Ask on your own times. If one of you steps out of line again there will be trouble." I growled to the two males.

They glared at each other as they left.

"Wow, Ria has luck." I joked. Vilkas had called Aela, Farkas, and myself to talk about what happened. "Don't tell Ria. Or Njada." Vilkas said. "Ria is dating Athis, but they aren't mates. A wolf's desire for a mate is stronger than the bond of dating." Vilkas spoke. Farkas shifted his weight. His face scowled a bit before turning to normal. "You all are dismissed. Don't tell anyone what you heard here." Vilkas said and with that they left.

I stayed to talk to Vilkas. "How does a wolf declare a mate?" I ask. "Ahh. I knew you'd ask. To declare a mate is like half way between dating are marriage. They still have to get married but a mate's courtship is a bond that is rarely broken. It is put into place when a male travels to the Forest of Soul, which lays just outside of Solitude, to find a Silver Rose. They are blessed by dripping blood of both mates onto the flower's petals. It is greatly shined upon by Hircine when wolves become mates before getting married." Vilkas said and he left.

"A Silver Rose, huh." I stated.
