Cold Nights

I sat my bed. Farkas was still asleep. It was around midnight when I woke up. I heard shuffling and was too scared to investigate. I heard it stop outside my doorway. I carefully shook Farkas awake. He slowly opened his eyes and I put my finger over his mouth. "What is it woman?" He whispered. "There's someone outside the door..." I point to it.

I can heard Farkas sniff the air. His hair stands up in places. "He... How? Stay quiet!" He harshly whispers as he walked away to get his armour on. His footsteps barely audible. I snuggled deeper into my blanket. The door knob began to turn.

"I know you're there..." A deep voice growled. Nikkou's wolf. My eyes opened in alarm. "I know you're awake. Face me!" He growled. I slowly turned over. Nikkou's white form stood over my bed. His eyes were red, blood dripped from his teeth. I opened my mouth to scream as his large paw covered my mouth. His claws scraped my face. Tears built up. "Scream and I'll kill you." He says bluntly. I nod. "This isn't over. I will be back for you. Athis thought he could stop me and hopefully I left that elf dead." I held back a scream.

Nikkou saw the fear in my eyes. His werewolf stood over my bed. His jaw was inches from my face. "I like it when they fear me..." He growled. "It makes for a fun game... Now. How about we have fun before I go?" I began to cry. Where was Farkas?! He trailed his other paw down my jawline and was making his way down my arm.

"Get off her, or I'll show you my version of fun..." A deep growled was heard behind us. It sounded like Farkas, but I've never heard his voice that... Mad. Nikkou slowly turned around. Farkas's werewolf stood tall, his dark brown fur was solid black... His eyes were a deep red... His teeth were sharper then ever... This wasn't my Farkas. Nikkou folded his ears back and growled. He hopped off my bed and I scooted back into the corner.

Nikkou and Farkas began to circle each other, like wild wolves. Nikkou looked small compared to Farkas. His small form was growling, teeth bared, ears back, tail thrashing. Farkas's larger form was growling deeply, his jaw was clamped shut, his ears and tail stood erect. Nikkou made the first move. He lunged for Farkas's leg, but Farkas was quicker.

Farkas grabbed Nikkou by the back of neck and began to shake the small wolf. Nikkou growled and raked his claws across Farkas's flank. The two broke apart and lunged into a fit of barks, growls, bites, and occasional whines from Nikkou. In minutes Nikkou was down, cowering under Farkas. Farkas stood over him, growling. His lunged at Nikkou's head, the small wolf didn't move. Farkas shook him and Nikkou passed out.

The black wolf turned his head to me. He walked over and hopped on my bed. He pushed his large head into my chest. I held my breath. He began to whine before he shifted back. He shrank into his human form and began panting. He didn't have a scratch on him. I quickly latched onto him and didn't let go. He hugged back and we sat like that for a good bit. "Athis!" I yelled, getting up. "Get Nikkou! Bring him back to the dungeon!" I yell, running out the door.

I reach the door. Athis was still. He had a gaping wound across his chest. He was bleeding out, fast. I ran down the hall, yelling for help  Within minutes everyone was awake. I found Vilkas and explained everything, minus the demon Farkas wolf. Vilkas ran down the hall, Ria followed close behind.

Vilkas told everyone to get back to bed. He called the nurse over and dismissed us. I walked back to my room. Farkas doomed joined me. I sat in the corner of my bed and shivered. "What was that..." I ask him. "Don't worry about it... Let's get some sleep." He said, laying down. I cuddle closer to his and fall asleep. It wasn't a good sleep, but good enough.
