Spars and Scars

I looked Vilkas in the eyes. He did the same. They were placing bets as I scanned over Vilkas, searching for a weakness. The fur on his belly was too think. His build was lean and mainly muscle, so a head on attack would be pointless. His neck was too shaggy for a bite there. His legs were lean. No grip. How was I gonna do this. He was a pure Alpha. I was a scrawny pup!

"3..." I would have to play it by game. "2..." Come on, think! "1!" Aela finished and Vilkas began to circle me. I moved his action. He bared his fangs, "Don't look at me like a friend, look at me like an enemy!" I growled. "You're still doing it! Imagine I'm... Nikkou!" He barked. I tried to imagine Nikkou. Vilkas's fur bristled. "Come on!" He growls viscously. I growled. "I'm seeing you as an enemy! You have 3 seconds before I attack!" He barked. I growled again. "3!" I got ready to dodge on 1.

"2!" He lunged at me. "Rule one! Don't trust your for!" He said before biting down on my front leg. I yelled in Surprise and I heard Farkas growl. I can't always rely on Farkas.

I bit at his face. He let me go and we kept circling me. I turned to face him when he circled. I was too slow and my back faced him. He quickly kept on my back. His large, heavy paws just pushed my back down. I felt my back legs buckle and barked. Farkas was shifting uncomfortably.

"Come on! Step it up!" He growled to me. He bit for my face. His jaws closed on air. Spit from him was on my face. "Now your getting it!" He began to circle faster. That's it! Make him tired! I just need to dodge his attacks and when he's tired I'll get a better shot to knock him down!

I began to circle, twice for every one he did. He gave chase, but I was too fast. He leapt and o slip under his paws. He had his claws out. This wasn't a game anymore. He said something, but I ignored him. The only thing on my mind was to tire him out.

I got focused on my paws and tripped. Vilkas saw and kept onto my back, claws out. His heavy paws raked my fur. He didn't break the skin but it hurt. I yelped in pain. Farkas growled deep in his throat.

Vilkas bit my scruff. I used my weight to turn around and take my claws to his face. He barked and let me go. His eyes flashed red for a quick second. I opened my jaw in surprise and ran faster. He ran for me and I stopped in place to duck as he kept over me. He hit the wood of the arena wall and fell. He got up, shaking his head. His breathing was heavy. He wasn't showing weakness! That's what I need to do. I put on a stern face and growled. He was taken aback and my instinct took over. I lunged and he was to shocked to move.

I kept on him, his size got the better as he tried to move. I had used a hind leg to slip his paws out from under him. He fell and I was on top of him. I bit into the back of his neck. I bit down until I felt skin. He yelped in surprise and tried to stand. I used a paw to rake his face and he fell. He let his panting show.

He was able to stand and tried to shake me off. I didn't let go. Everyone was cheering for me. I didn't get distracted. Vilkas was running, trying to knock me off. I bit harder. I tasted blood and my grip loosened a bit. I used a hind leg once more to swipe his feet from under him. He fell and I was still holding his scruff.

I put a paw on his face. My hind legs were holding him down. He was panting heavily now. He looked at me again. I let go and he got up. He ran at me and I slid his legs from under him and pounced. I bit his haunches and clawed his underbelly. He whimpered and quit struggling.

I let go and stood over him, growling. "3..." Aela began the countdown. "2..." I looked him in the eye. "1! Y/n beat Vilkas!" She said, half surprised. They broke out in cheers as I stepped back. I was panting and Vilkas stood. "Nice job, pup." He barked. "Thanks!" I wagged my tail. Villas shifted back and rubbed the back of his neck. His hand came back bloody. He grabbed a cloth and put pressure down.
