All I Need

How?

Lydia dropped her bag on her bed at her safe house. She heard a knock on the door and then heard it open.
"Are you here, love?" Nik's voice drifted through the house.
Lydia ran out of her room and jumped into his arms.
"It's okay, love," he sighed, "I won't let her hurt you."
Lydia buried her face into Nik's neck.
"I'm going to kill every last one of them," Lydia growled.
"Don't worry about that, love," Nik said, "just worry about keeping yourself safe and alive. I will take care of the rest."
Lydia nodded.
"Are you ready for bed?" Nik asked
Lydia nodded.
Nik carried her to her room and laid her down in the bed.
Nik took off his shirt and his jeans and socks and shoes and climbed into bed with Lydia and curled up to her.
"I love you," Nik said sleepily.
"I love you too," Lydia smiled.
The next day Lydia joined Nik in going to his house and she talked to all the siblings and re-introduced them to Henrik. Henrik flinched anytime he saw Esther and Lydia would hold Nik tighter.
Lydia stayed with Nik the next few days and got terrible sleep knowing Esther could attack at any moment. After a few days, an owl from the liba kingdom pecked at Nik's window early in the morning. Nik groaned and rolled over and walked to the window and grabbed the note in the owls beak.
'For Lydia Marin'
The envelope said.
Nik walked over to Lydia and woke her up and handed her the note. She sat up against the wall and opened it. As she read the letter, Nik watched her eyes get huge.
"What love?" Nik asked.
Lydia looked at him with a happy expression that changed fearful and then changed confused and worried.
"I'm not sure how happy you're going to be with this, but I am..." Lydia whispered handing him the note.
"You're pregnant," Nik gasped.
Nik looked up into Lydia's worried eyes and smiled. Lydia relaxed and smiled. He quickly pushed his lips onto hers, making her smile as she moved her hands to his curly hair and kissed him back.
There was a knock on the door.
"What?" Nik called.
"It's Rebekah!" Rebekah yelled through the door.
"Come in!" Lydia smiled.
'Let's agree not to tell anyone for a while?' Lydia's voice said in Nik's head.
He looked at her and nodded.
"We're going to have a ball!" Rebekah smiled.
