Salam Everyone today I'll be discussing the topic of modesty.
Modesty is defined as "the quality of being relatively moderate, limited, or small in amount, rate, or level. "
But what truly is modesty? Most of us view it as a spectrum of clothing whether we cover up or not and that goes for many people of the world. But modesty isn't just about clothing right?
Well I believe modesty is the form of being modest in all aspects of your life. Whether it be spending, living space, clothing etc. I don't believe that someone can cover every inch of their skin and then buy a $10,000 bag is a modest person but a modest dresser. Modesty is also about the way a human carries themselves the way he or she talks to anyone and anything the way he or she presents himself or herself.
Modesty is also not only a female thing yet most people forget to include men's modesty. If a female isn't allowed to walk out with her legs showing or maybe even just her shoulder showing and gets shamed on a bunch of levels. Why can a men walk around with his chest and legs exposed and not get called out on it as well.
Going even further clothing modesty is not only an Islamic thing this can no for anyone of any faith or if no faith.
The fact stands that people of any walk of life in any way shape or form modesty is so much more then whether you wear a turtleneck and jeans or crop tops and shorts.
