You were up till late at night, worried why Haechan still hadn't come home. Unfortunately, your eyes were too heavy for you to force it open and you ended up falling asleep on the couch.

Ruffling noises and dropping things woke you up from your sleep. You stirred around and tried to open your eyes, seeing Haechan, struggling to reach for the first aid box under the coffee table.

You jolted up, shocked by his appearance, "Haechan?" Your voice hoarse calling him but he chose to ignore you.

Your fingers grazed on his arm making him look at you, and you gasped examining the dried blood marks smeared on his face and sweats dripping. He groaned in pain. Scooting closer to him, you slide his shirt up.

A gash of blooded wounds on his sides.

Your eyes grew, "What did you get yourself into?!" You whisper-yelled, not going to make Jisung wake up.

"Are you just gonna look?" He hissed.

Quickly reaching for the aid kit and using a wet cloth to clean his wound, you tried your best to dab the cotton softly, not to make him hurt. He threw his head back, crying in pain, a soft curse could be heard.

After you were done, you placed a big plaster on his wound, covering it nicely. You chewed on your lips, eyes on him while he stared into spaces. Your hands reached for his that rested on the sofa and Haechan turned his head at you.

"Tell me," You said, softly caressing his knuckles. He didn't intend to roll his eyes at you but he did, "None of your concern," He got up and left for his bedroom.

You frowned, clicking your tongue, finding his attitude annoying, but there's no way he got away with it. You marched to his bedroom, knocking on his door harshly, now not caring that Jisung will wake up. You know Jisung is a heavy sleeper too.

"For fuck sake, Lee Haechan! Open up this door!"

No response.

"Are you a coward or something now Lee Donghyuck?!" you yelled, calling out his real name. It's the first time after so long you called him by that name.

The doorknob twisted, revealing the now cleaned face of Haechan.

His jaw clenched, pulling you in his room, closing the door and slamming you against the locked door.

You were a bit intimidated by his aggressive act but you didn't want to show it to him as he stared into your eyes long before he leaned closer to your ears,

"Say that name again," His voice a tone lower than his usual. Goosebumps all over your body.

You silenced yourself, but he wasn't happy with that. He growled lowly, his grip on your arms tightened. "Say that name again."

You'd be lying if your stomach didn't just make a flip.

Deciding to tease him, you smirked, wrapping your arms around his neck, caressing his back hair.

"Lee," You whispered near his ear. "Donghyuck,"

You could feel him smirking when he buried his head in your neck, arms wrapping your torso. You know he's weak for this. "Yoo Jin," He calls out your name desperately and you hummed, enjoying his warmth.

"I had a bad day today," He pulled away, staring into your orbs before averting on your lips. You chuckled, witnessing the look in his eyes.

Slowly, you pushed him off and walked to his bed, lying down on one side "Come on, I'll hear your story,"

Haechan made his way to his bed, crawling into your arms as he lied down next to you. "Remember that old woman who comes with my father?" Your eyebrows knitted remembering the event happened a few days ago and you nodded once you remember her face.

"She's my dad's first wife, she's not my mother,"

You were shocked by the fact you just know about this despite being friends with him for a few years now. "Where's your mother?" You asked him in a soft voice, not wanting to offend him.

He exhaled, shoulders dropped. "Died in a car accident," He whispered feeling his eyes brimming with tears. Your free hand reached out to Haechan's cheek, caressing it softly. "I'm sorry, I didn't know."

Haechan flashed a little smile, a hand grabbed onto yours which was on his face, squeezing onto it lightly and dropped them to the sheets, interlacing it.

"I have a stepbrother, he kind of hates me for living with them and I think that's why my father bought this apartment for me. That guy would always blame me for everything he did wrong. He wouldn't give up and he would be satisfied if I were the one to be punished,"

He paused, eyes staring deeply into your eyes as he hesitated to say something but he shook his head to dismiss it.

"Just say it, Haechan" You assured him.

"And I don't want to lose you," He lifted your intertwined hands, kissing your knuckles, successfully making the butterflies in you fly around.

You were confused at what he's saying and you frowned. "Why would you lose me? I will always be here,"

Smiling, Haechan stroked your hair lovingly, as if capturing your beauty in his mind. "Yeah, I know. I'm just making sure you know what I want,"

Your heart craved for more, you needed answers behind all this mess he brought home, why he always gets hurt and somehow seemed a bit distant.

Tracing your fingers below his cuts, your eyes lingered around his face. "Why did you come home bleeding?"

Haechan gulped, taking in the warmth your fingertips radiated on his face, he closed his eyes momentarily. "I... met him. My stepbrother,"

"Why?"

Opening his eyes, he tried avoiding your gaze, hating the fact that all he wanted is to shut you up and just to snuggle into the comfort of you and sleep. "I just had things to settle with him, and that's just it,"

"What were those things that you needed to settle with blood?" Your hand moved to caress the back of his hair, raising all the goosebumps on his skin.

He looked up, taking a good moment to fall deep into your beautiful dark orbs that he can see thanks to the dim light from his toilet.

"it's about you"
