"Captain!" You knocked on the familiar wooden door twice.

Your peers finished up with training to prepare themselves for the mission tomorrow. During lunch you searched for Captain Erwin but he was no where to be found. You decided to excuse yourself from lunch early.

You couldn't wait any longer.

"Cap-"

"Name." Erwin's voice responded to your frantic actions.

"Y/N Lahnet Sir!"

"Lahnet, come in." You opened the tall heavy door with both of your hands revealing inside was Erwin in his usual state, finishing and scribbling down reports.

"Miss Lahnet, coming into my office without an appointment is highly looked down upon." He uttered out those words which made you ball up your fists.

"But Sir! I have important information to share!"

He cocked his eyebrow and gave you his undivided attention giving you the go ahead signal.

"Yesterday sir." You began your testimony. "I came down the the mess hall to fetch water for my roommate who was having a bad headache. As I reached the hall, I heard a small conversation from behind the storage crates stored near the mess hall. All I could piece out from their conversation was 'letter', 'mission', and the statement 'we kill Erwin Smith,' Sir please believe me-"

He held his hand up high to refrain you from speaking anymore. "I do believe you Lahnet. Actually, I am already aware of this." Your eyes widened at his recent statement.

"Then why are you not taking any precautions when your life's in danger!" You argued as his absurd carelessness.

"Well solider, you can accompany me on this upcoming mission to put your mind at ease if you'd like." Erwin rested his head on his neatly folded hands leaning into the space between you two.

"I would gladly accept your suggestion sir. How about my sq-"

"I'll talk to Hanji about that, I'm sure she'll be open to a change in formation."

The bustling hoards of military personnel gathered around the gate of Wall Maria. Carts filled brimming with reserved weapons and gas tank spares were dispersed through the crowd. Every scout on their designated horses.

"Hey Y/N! You're in the wrong squad." Ausia rode up to you and captain Erwin.

"I'm going to assist Captain Erwin in this mission." You turned around to met Erwin's nod of approval.

"Oh... I see how it is..." The corners of your friend's lips curled up into a smirk. "Is this thing about your visit to Captain's office nights ago?" She moved her horse a tad bit closer to yours. "I bet something naugh-"

"Cadet Ralpha! Please refrain from straying from your post." Hanji called her back making you a flustered mess.

"Is everything alright Lahnet?" Erwin seem concerned about your reddened appearance. "Did your comrade make an embarrassing remark?"

"More or less..." you nodded as you attempted to cover your face with your hand. Erwin lifted his head up to face the sky.

"Looks like a heavy storm is stirring up." He muttered

"TODAY WE TAKE ANOTHER STEP FORWARD!" Commander Shadis' voice boomed throughout the military, although it was difficult to see him his voice was loud and clear. "SHOW ME THE FRUITS OF YOUR TRAINING! WE WILL NOW COMMENCE THE 23RD EXPEDITION BEYOND THE WALLS!"
