"Right now, all you can do is save your energy." Leaning into his hand weakly, you huffed in exhaustion. Your fever was just getting worse. Levi kissed his teeth, clearly upset at your current state when he cupped your heated face. The sun still hasn't sunk as it was currently mid afternoon. Who knows when you would be taken care of properly. "The squad and I are planning to ambush one of the check points. Now," Kneeling down to your height, Levi held out the handle of your gun to you. "I'm not going to let you join us let alone leave you here defenseless. Sasha will be here with you." Putting the gun in your hand, he checked the temperature of your forehead as you began to flutter your eyes close. "Y/N, I know it's a lot to bare, but I want you to hold up for me. Just till we can secure the headquarters." A pregnant pause filled the atmosphere as you began to wince in discomfort. Head throbbing, red shot eyes, every expression you made only drooped down from the lack of energy.
"Ok." You whispered closing your tired eyes as you held your arms close to your trembling body. "Stay safe."
"Y/N..." Muttering under his breath Levi pulled your head in towards his chest, embracing you. "Don't do anything stupid when I'm gone. Understood, brat?" Pulling away just enough for him to lean down and press a tender kiss on your forehead.
"Levi." You called frantically, in eagerness to grab his attention before he left you. Tugging on his grey shirt, you moved closer to his face, landing a peck on his cheek.
"I see now, you wanna get me sick too? Huh?" Crossing his arms at you as a weak chuckle left your lips. The way he didn't bother to wipe off your kiss this time around indicated that he was willing to get sick just for you. Although intimidating at first glance, Levi was a charming man, despite the lack of romantic experience. He knew how to take care of others in his own way. "Alright, I'll be going." He sighed, second guessing himself whether he should leave you or not. You bore a heavy sense of guilt that loomed over you like a dark cloud waiting for the perfect time to start pouring. Levi sure did seem composed despite the amount of stress the towered over him. He was such an admirable man, always putting others first. Stoic exterior at first glance but you were extremely grateful to be basked in his true nature. It was probably why you fell so hard for him. That time you were in the infirmary after your ambush, he never left your side, although he would label you as his responsibility, he had loving intentions. Time will only tell when you'll return the favor.

You fluttered your eyes open at sound of someone rummaging through their bag. "Sasha? Are you missing something." The brunette girl perked up at the sound of your voice like a startled deer.
"Oh, not really ma'am. It's more like I'm missing an ingredient." She proceeded to pull out a small wooden bowl and pestle "I'm sorry for waking you, Captain."
"Don't worry about it." Your eyes smiled as your leaned your cheek against the palm of your hand, catching yourself zoning out at the girl before you. With your fever at its peak, there was no way you could get some shut eye with this type of situation you were in.
"Captain! I'll be back! I won't take too long. I promise!" Scurrying through the forest behind you, your heart skipped a beat as you followed her into the woods as well.
"Sasha, you can't just run away like this." Grumbling under your short breaths, you skipped over large sticks and loaf sized rocks on the way as the girl ran through the greenery. You could just imagine the way your lover would scold you mercilessly if he ever witnessed you running on such a high fever like this. Sasha then approached a small patch of delicate baby daisies that was gathered near by. Flowers? Oddly enough, those flower reminded you of the display of herbal goods your mother placed on the kitchen counter. Holding on to your knee, you huffed and huffed to catch your breath. Despite the breathable grey fabric that clothed your body, your fingers was burning up to a crimson.
