Five years have passed ever since the incident. Only a handful of remaining soldiers witnessed your mysterious power. Hanji Zoe your Squad Leader, Erwin Smith your Captain, and Levi your fellow cadet, were the only ones who you'd recognized from your memories. A week after the day of the expedition, you were announced to be sentenced to death that afternoon in a disclosed location. You pleaded for your life. Arguing was useless, at the end you were still a monster.

But

Erwin Smith had plans of his own. You were a great asset for research as they were a step closer to irradiate the titans from existence and to save humanity.

Being isolated from the 'world' was the only best thing they could do for you. You were still labeled as a threat, and because of that, your chamber was heavily guarded by high ranking soldiers. They strictly provided food for you once a day, nothing more nothing less. An unhealthy diet took a toll on your physical and mental health.

Experimentation took place twice every month which Hanji directed. Finding other weak points on your Titan, or slicing you up repeatedly to test your regeneration ability were a couple ways that defined the word 'experiment.' Even after all the shifting, you still couldn't figure out how that occurred. Visits from the newly ranked commander, Erwin, would occur during the first day of every three months. He still kept a kind composure to you even though you were seen as an enemy.

As time drew in closer and closer to the event taking place now, you've gained scars from your years being imprisoned. Finally it was time for you to be released.

"Today you are being released to stand in court that will determine the path you'll take, whether it be your end or a new chance at life." Those were the words that greeted you as Erwin picked out a key from his jacket. He proceeded to open the rusted iron door that divided the space between you and him.

"You know you could've said it in a more sweeter way." You scoffed turning your head to the opposite side as he released you from the decaying shackles that fixed you on to the wall.

Your aching arm dropped down.

"Then how would you want me to say it?" Erwin moved on to unlocking the other shackle.

Click

Massaging your sore muscles you stood up. "How bout." You raised your arms in the air and stretched your throbbing back. "'Today you're being released' and stop at that." You imitated his tone as you followed him out of your cell. Erwin chuckled and gently wrapped his fingers around your wrist and pulled out similar shackles to the ones you were just released from seconds ago. "Am I a joke to you Erwin?" You pouted at the fact he teased your freedom. You dropped the formalities long ago since you weren't affiliated with the military anymore other than being a prisoner of it. Erwin surprisingly didn't really mind. Although it was his idea to lock you up in the first place, kindness was the only thread sticking you both together.

"Sorry Y/N, you're going to be in these for awhile." He secured them in place joining your hands together behind you. A dark colored cloth flew right over your head to block your vision just like before.

"Erwin..." you mumbled. "Am I going to die?" A long pause between you two lasted for about a minute before you heard Erwin reply.
