Chapter 28: Crystal Cavern

(Y/N's POV)

A roaring thud slammed the door open as the squad pushed barrels of explosives down the fleet of crystal like stairs. "Now remember what I told you." Levi muttered under his breath as the squad including Hanji deployed into the crystal cavern.

"Yes." You hummed a response back with a gun in your hand as you followed behind Sasha and Armin. Drawing out a burning arrow, the brunette girl stood at the edge of the set of stairs before shooting it carefully at one of the oil barrels causing an explosive chain reaction. Bursting into a massive clouds of dark grey, the sound of ODM gears recoiled in and out of the commotion as half of the group including Hanji and Moblit stood by your side. Loading a smoke barrel into their guns, the shot it into the grey abyss. Stripes of pillowy green were only shoot at a specific direction.

"We're going." Hanji nodded as she was the first of many to zip into the storm. Drawing out another lit arrow, Sasha struck another barrel making it burst out loud. The piercing sound of the gunpowder breaking free from the wooden barrels caused your head to lighten. The immense sound and energy emitting from the situation only cause your physical and mental fatigue to worsen.

You were still a target nonetheless. If you were to get caught up in this situation, it could jeopardize the team's efforts. Erwin and the rest of the brigade were going to join you all from the surface once this mission has be dealt away with. Once again, clapping booms of thick barrel guns projecting deadly bullets rang in your ear but in a sudden the cloud whisked away in an area before you. A female from the hostile party zipped towards your direction. Her eyes were quick widen as she prevented herself from pulling the trigger on you. Sasha was in a tight spot, the woman rushed in at the perfect timing that the brunette just released an arrow to save a comrade just seconds ago.

Adrenaline surged through your body, roaring like a lion who was ready to latch on its prey. Swiftly pointing your revolver at the target as fast as you possibly could, you roughly shot, without a care if the bullet hit the woman or not. A fountain of blood rained on you as the target fell backwards with her hand clenched around her throat. Your eyes widened in horror at the sight before you. The neck? The fact that the woman was still barely alive only sent shivers down your spine as she plummeted to the ground. The two teens before you trembled only a bit as they hesitatingly turned their heads to look at you.

"Thank you." They both grinned with a look of shock and fear. You nodded as you pushed in another bullet capsule into the section of the barrel that was now empty. Wiping the blood off your face, considering what just happened, your senses and your alertness heightened. Your grey shirt was covered in drops of dark red, it was disgusting. The sound of bullets escaping barrel and cries seemed more vivid. Only time will tell if you were drawing to a close on this mission.

It only took a second for you to notice Hanji tumbling to the ground. H-Hanji! Your throat wrapped on itself, beginning to choke you alive as your fallen comrade was coated in a bright scarlet. Eyes widen at the horrid sight only to be interrupted by a male zipping towards your direction.

"ON THE RIGHT!" You yelled out causing your head to spin. The situation was still at a frenzy. Now was not the time to be distracted by your knocked out comrade. Aiming your gun at the swiftly approaching target, the cloud whisked away once more to reveal another one following right behind him. Shit!

Sasha was quick to knock the nearest one down as you fired a round at the other male. Your hands trembled as your bullet only grazed his cheek. "Lower your weapons or I'll hurt her." He shouted, approaching in the air closer and closer, but you shot a menacing glare at the teens to not comply with his demands. Grunting from frustration, he shot his anchor to the wall right behind you, sharply grazing your rib cage. You groaned loudly in pain as you recklessly shot multiple rounds in his direction while he lured himself in towards you, filling his face with rogue bullets. With a final shot, Sasha struck an arrow at his neck in which he fell down the fleet on stairs like a bag of potatoes. You trembled down to your knees as your legs gave up on you due to the immense pain at your side.
