(Y/N)'s POV:
"Good morning, Mr. Rogers," I said as I walked into the main room of Stark Tower. "Good morning, Ms. (L/N)," He said while looking up at me from the couch. "What do you have planned for today?" I asked while sitting down next to my best friend. "I'm doing it," He said while looking back at the television and his coffee mug sitting on the table in front of us. I smiled and leaned over to pick up the mug and take a sip. "Eww, you drink this stuff?" I asked while spitting out the coffee. "What's wrong with it?" He asked while handing me a napkin. "It's so bitter," I then set the mug back down.
I then looked at the television and he was watching the news. "Why are you watching the news?" I asked while reaching over to grab the remote. "Cause when you've been in the ice for 70 years things tend to change so I wanted to catch up on whatever I missed. I smiled and changed the channel. "If you want to catch up then I suggest watching comedy because comedians will tell you everything you need to know in a less boring way." He then looked intentively at the t.v. as I had just changed the channel to Carol Burnett.
"Let me know when you finish this episode so I can then change it to SNL." He smiled and then I got up and started to make some food for everyone. I made Tony a sandwich and Steve a salad, I ordered Peter and Clint a pizza, I got Natasha and Bruce some sushi, and Sam and Bucky burgers. I just ordered extra of everything so that we had leftovers and so that I had some.
I looked around the room and everyone was happy while stuffing their faces. People were making small talk but I just kept to myself and watched the happy people eat. "Here you go, (Y/N). I saved you some of my milkshake since it's your favorite flavor," Steve said while handing me the shake. Everyone saw this exchange and just looked at us like we were Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling breaking into a song.
"Thanks, Steve. I would be milkshakeless without you," I said while taking a sip of the drink. He blushed and so did I. Then, without warning, Pepper walked in holding a beautiful dress.
"(Y/N), this is for you to wear to Tony's party tonight." Shit, I forgot about Tony's party. "But I already had a dress planned to wear," I said while looking at the dress. "Well, this was sent in the mail and addressed to you," She then handed me the dress and I glared at Tony. "What? I didn't get that for you," He said with a mouth full of chips. I took the dress upstairs and went into my closet to look for some shoes to go with it.
After I found a nice pair of golden strapped heals I then looked for jewelry. I laid everything I was going to wear that night on the bed. I went back downstairs so that I could clean up everyone's mess and help Pepper get the Tower ready for Tony's party.
Rhodey showed up a little later and told me that he could take over helping Pep so that I could get ready. I went back into my room and got into the shower so I didn't only look good but also smelled good. I then put on the dress halfway before realizing that I needed help zipping it up in the back. I held the dress up and held the bottom up so that I didn't trip since I hadn't put on my shoes yet. I went into the hall and looked both ways to see if there was anyone there to help you.
There seemed to be no one so I walked down the hall to Steve's room. I knocked on the door and a shirtless Steve answered. He must have been getting ready as well. "Hey Stevie, could you help zip up my dress?" He nodded and then walked into his room further. "Sorry, let me just put on my belt first," He then walked over to his dresser so that he could grab his belt. I walked into his room, still holding my dress so that he could zip my up quicker cause I still had to do my hair and makeup.
I turned around and had my back facing Steve so that he could zip it up. I dropped the bottom of the dress and he zipped it up. After he zipped it up I looked into the doorway and there was Tony standing there with his jaw dropped to the floor. "I didn't know you two were a thing?" He said while I looked at Steve and started laughing. "What? No! Steve and I are just best friends I could find anyone else to zip up my dress." Tony nodded and started to walk away and I looked at Steve who was looking at the ground with a small smile.
"Well, I better go finish getting ready," I said while picking up the bottom of my dress and leaving so that I could finish getting ready.
When I was done I went downstairs and could see everyone there and some new people like news people and important celebrities. I went to the bar and got a drink and went over to Natasha to make some small talk. In that spur of the moment, I saw Steve standing over near Bucky and Tony. They all had a drink in hand and were smiling big smiles. Natasha and I made our way our way over to them. "Hey boys," She said while eyeing Bucky up and down. He got all red and then offered a hand to the dance floor. We never did see them again that night.
"I wish I was as cool as Nat when it came to getting a guy like that," I said while taking a swig of my drink. "Bucky could get any girl in here all he had to do is look at them," Steve said while sighing. "Oh for the love of God! Just dance with each other!" Tony yelled out for everyone at the party to hear. I then sat my drink down and Steve did the same. We walked to the dance floor and had the best night ever.
"Thanks for being such a great friend to me," He said while we danced. I smiled and put my head on his chest. We continued dancing until people started to leave. I then went back to the bar and took my shoes off. "My feet are killing me," I said while unzipping the side of the shoe. I leaned over the bar and put the shoes behind it. "I will pick those up in the morning," I said to the bartender.
I looked across the room and could see Steve bent over picking up trash like the good boy he was. The only thing was that his pants looked as if they were about to rip in any second. "If you stare at him any harder he might split the seam in those pants," Sam said while walking over to me. I broke out of my trance and looked over at him with an annoyed look. "Why don't you just tell him how you feel?" He asked while handing me a glass of water. "If I do that then it might ruin our friendship if he doesn't feel the same way." I then took a sip of the water and got off the stool.
Steve slowly made his way over to us with a trash bag in hand. "Got any trash?" He asked while extending the bag out to Sam and me. "Dude, worst pick up line ever," Sam said while walking away. "No, I wasn't- I didn't mean to-" "It's alright, Steve. Sam is just an ass who thinks you have feelings for me," I then picked up the bottom of my dress and started to walk away. "Well, he's not entirely wrong about that," He said while setting the trash bag down.
"Good, cause I feel the same way," I said while quickly turning towards him so that I could kiss him. We kissed for a good minute before he picked me up and walked up the stairs into his room and no one saw us again that night either.
The next morning I walked downstairs in one of Steve's shirts and my sweatpants. "Good morning, gorgeous," Steve said from the couch while taking a sip of his bitter coffee that he likes. "Good morning, Cap," I said while walking over to give him a kiss.
He held my waist and pulled me to sit on his lap. Soon after, Tony walked in and saw this. "Just friends, right." He then started to make breakfast. I got off of Steve's lap and then everyone came downstairs for breakfast. "So, you and Steve?" Sam asked me while I looked at Steve from across the breakfast table. "I don't know, something about that butt got to me."
