Chapter nine

Tris pov

"Woah look at this" I say giggling as I look in the mirror in Brian's room.

It's been a month. He's let me stay with him because he's also trying to figure his life out. We have just been close friends and that's all. We didn't have sex or kiss anymore. We both decided that after that one time we slept together that, that was our last. We both just wanted to be friends because that's what we both needed.

I haven't talked to Tobias since. I also haven't seen my parents in a month. I kind of just isolated myself from everyone. No friends, no family. Just me and Brian... laughing our heads off and eating take out every other day. My parents know that I'm safe and that my baby is safe too. I guess they can pass that message onto Tobias if they want.

I'm sure he's been asking if they have heard from me.

My parents have been begging me to come home so today I decided it's been a month I probably should. Brian said he'll give me a ride there.

I'm going to miss hanging out with Brian everyday but we said we will still keep in touch. I told him he's invited to all my future events and hang outs.

"What" he chuckles looking over at me.

"My belly has a bump" I say looking down at it.

"Well there is a baby growing inside it" he says and I giggle running over to lay next to him.

"I'm going to miss you" I tell him

"You don't have to leave" he says

"I know but you've been so kind letting me stay with you, I think it's time I go. I miss my parents. I should go see them. I should also meet up with Tobias. We need to talk eventually" I say

"Well if you ever want to come back, I'm just a call away" he says and we hug.

I wave bye to Brian as he gets ready to drive away. I'm at the front door of my parents house and I'm about to knock on the door when my dad opens it.

"Tris" he says quickly pulling me into a hug

"Oh sweetheart" my mom says squeezing me into one too.

"I don't care how hard a situation gets. You come straight home to us. I don't want you sneaking off for a whole month. You had us worried sick" my dad says

"And this belly. Look at this pregnant belly. My baby is having a baby" my mom says excitedly

"I'm not so happy about that but there's nothing we can do now" my dad says

"Oh Andrew stop" my mom says

"She's not even 20 years old yet as she's already knocked up" my dad says

"It's Tobias's baby. They are going to last forever. They are basically married. Evelyn and I already have been looking for places for a wedding. I'm sure Tobias will pop the special question soon" My mom says

"Stop talking about my love life. I'm not even sure if Tobias and I are going to work out" I say walking past them to go to the kitchen for some water.

"Don't say that honey. He told me what happened. You have to forgive him. He was in a crazy situation. You don't have to even worry about Lauren anymore. She's dead a-..." my mom starts to ramble

I almost drop my glass of water and turn to my mom and dad.

"Natalie, I think Tobias and Tris had to have that conversation" my dad says

"Lauren died" I say with a hand over my mouth

Tobias is probably freaking out. Sophie is probably so crushed.
