Chapter 1 - The Challenge

Chloe's P.O.V
I woke up to my alarm blaring in my ear, I got out of bed and went straight for the shower. After showering I got dressed and packed my bag for school, most of my dance shoes were in my locker so it was mainly notebooks and extra pairs of tights and stuff. I walked into the hall over to my brothers little box room,
"Daniel, get up its 7:25am"
"Alright alright" Daniel moaned rolling out of his bed onto his floor
I closed the door and went into the kitchen where my mum was placing our breakfast on the table,
"Morning mum"
"Morning pet, did you get Daniel up?"
"Yeah, he rolled onto the floor that usually means he's up for definite" I laughed
"Thank you" she hugged me "now i have to go to work I'll see you around 10" she kissed my head and left.
This is how is usually is, I get up see her for 2 seconds and then she's gone, but I'm not mad or anything, she's doing all this for me and Daniel but it upsets me sometimes.
"Do i have to go to school today?" Daniel walked into the kitchen groaning
"Em , let me think about that, YES" I laughed "now eat your breakfast fast please, its 7:30am you're bus leaves in 20 minutes" I checked the time.
Daniel is 9, he was 1 when my father left, he doesn't know the real story yet, he's still too young, so we just tell him he has to work far away from home and he's not allowed have any contact with us. I found out the truth about my dad when I was 14, thats when I stopped taking that as an excuse, I know you're probably thinking i was stupid to believe that excuse until I was 14 but I really didn't I started second guessing it when I was 11 but I didn't wanna upset my mum and I didn't want to admit that he was gone for good. Anyways thats enough depressing shit for now.
I finished eating my breakfast and rushed Daniel put the door and started walking him to his bus,
"Okay, so you go straight to the afterschool place when school is finished, I'll pick you up at 7:30pm, okay?" I say to Daniel as we get closer to the bus
"Okay okay, you say this everyday, I think I know by now" he rolled his eyes
"Yeah yeah, bye" I waved him off and then walked around the corner to meet Rebecca.
Rebecca and I met on our first day in the accademy, we were paired together for stretching and then we just kind of stuck from there and we've been inseparable since,
"Hey bitch" She smiled when I got into the car
"Shut up and drive to school" I laughed.

It was lunch time and I was sitting at my usual table with Rebecca and a few of our other friends talking about dance routines and music when our head mistress walked in and demanded everyones attention,
"Hello students, as you all know the showcase is coming up in 3 months and I hope you are all starting to prepare yourselves" she started and immediately a buzz filled the room "Now this year we have decided to do something a little different, we want you to expand your horizons and challenge yourselves, so this year we're are going to put you into groups, musicians with dancers, singers with producers, dancers with singers and so on, there will be duos and groups of three and up, we will be coming to you individually with your partners or groups throughout the next few days, Thank you" she finished before walking out of the lunch hall
"That's a little weird isn't is?" Shauna, one of the girls said
"Yeah, I mean usually if we want to be in a group or work with someone we have the option, why are they making us do it now?" Aoife said
"Em hello? Didn't you hear her? Its to challenge us" I laughed "I think it will be fun" I smiled at them all
"It will be" Rebecca bumped my shoulder
"I gotta go to my locker before my dance class I'll see you guys later" I waved before walki g off towards my locker.

When I walked to my locker I thought obout the challenge, I wonder who I'd be paired with, or would I be put in a group, maybe I could be put with Rebecc-, my thoughts were cut off by a load of girls laughing
"Yeah so maybe I'll get paired up with one of you beautiful girls, we can do a little one on one practice"
There it is, the most annoying voice in the world, Jay. Of course he's flirting with a huge group of girls, what else would he be at?
"Idiot" I mutter as I walk past
"What was that?" I hear him say and I know that when I turn around he's gonna have that annoying smirk on his face. I turned around and there's the smirk I thought to myself,
"I said idiot" I say again only louder and clearer
"Don't go saying that about yourself now, remember self love is the key to being happy" he said while the girls that surrounded him walked away quietly "aw look you scared them off" he rolled his eyes
"If I did I did them a favour getting them away from you" I smiled a tight smile before turning around and walking off.

I reached my locker and started to take out my jumper to throw on over my shorts and top and as I did I felt a pair of arms fo around my waist,
"Hey babe" he kissed my cheek
I turned around and smiled and kissed his lips
"Hey Cam"
"So, maybe you and I would get paired up for this challenge" he winked at me
"Maybe, but I don't think that would be a good idea, we'd just spend all of our rehearsals laughing at something stupid" I laughed and he joined in
"That's true, look I gotta go to class, you have singing now don't you?" He asked and I nodded "Okay so I'll walked you to your next class after that okay?" He looked at me with wide eyes
"Okay" I smile
He kissed me quickly and then ran off down the hall. I put my jumper on and grabbed my song book and walked to the choir room.

The school day finishes at 5:30pm but I always stay back to work on stuff like a lot of the students. I was in one of the dance rooms practicing a lyrical piece when I got a call from Rebecca
(Bold: Chloe Italic: Rebecca)
-Hey
-Hey, look I didn't know how to tell you this but I've gotten put in a group already for the challenge and you're not in it......
-That's okay, I still might get put with some of the girls or maybe Cameron
-That's the thing......they've already been put into groups or pairs as well, all of them
-Dude it's okay, I'll be fine
-I know it's just I know you prefer to dance or sing with someone you trust
-I know but I'll be okay I promise
-Okay you better not be lying, Love you
-Love you
After we hung up I went on with my work, I was a little nervous to see who I was paired up with, this showcase is a big deal, there are people from Preforming Arts colleges and they've been watching us all since we started school and even though I'm only 16 and still have 2 years to go every preformance they see has to be perfect and it scares me that this person might mess it up.

Jay's P.O.V
This challenge is making me so nervous, I haven't been paired with anyone yet so I don't know what I have to work with and my future rests in this random persons hands, if they don't do well in this prefomance neither do I and the college scouts are going to be watching and every preformance counts up to the point that I graduate.

Hello, it's me the person who's writing this story. I know right now you know exactly whats gonna happen but please just stick with the story it will get better, I have plans for it and I feel like it's going to be long so it won't always be predictable.
Also I would like to say thank you if you have given my story a chance and i hope you are enjoying it so far.
