Chapter 5 - Dinner? Part 2

Jay's P.O.V
I got home and went into the sitting room where my mum was sat watching tv with my brother,
"Where's dad?" I asked sitting down
"He has work early in the morning so he's gone to bed" my mum explained
"So Chloe seems nice" my brother looked at me
"I guess" I shrugged turning my attention to the tv, out of the corner of my eye I noticed my mum and beother share a look before the tv was shut off so I turned my attention back to them
"You like her don't you?" My mum asked
"What?! No!" I shook my head shocked at the accusation
"Come on Jay, I noticed the way you look at her when she talks and the concern you had in your face when she mentioned about her dad" my brother reasoned
"Look I was just being polite okay, Chloe and I, we don't get on, she hates me and I hate her, that's it" I explain frustrated
"And whose fault is that?" My mum asked
"What do you mean?" I look at her furrowing my brows
"Whose fault is it that you hate each other?" She asks again
"I don't know, we just do" I shrugged getting annoyed
"Are you sure you don't just hate her because of Eva?" Luke asked cautiously
"No, I just hate her, she's annoying and she doesn't work hard and-" my mum cut me off
"From what she was saying it sounds like she works very hard" she looked at me
"Okay well maybe she does but she's still annoying and she's bossy and she goes around rubbing her relationship into everyones face and she acts so kind towards everyone" I rant
"Maybe she doesn't act" my mum sighs
"What?" I ask confused
"Maybe she is kind, you just give her every reason not to be kind to you" Luke explains
"I know you all think this is because of Eva but it's not okay, so just drop it" I sigh sinking down into my chair
"From the way you talk about her even though its bad stuff you're saying, it's sounds like you might like her a little more than you think" my mum says before her and Luke stand up and say goodnight.
I sat in the sitting room for 20 minutes just thinking about what they said, ok maybe what happened with Eva has something to do with the way I see Chloe but that's not the reason I fond her annoying and bossy and it's not the reason I hate how her and Cameron are all over each other, but I do hate her, there's no doubt about that, I don't like her, not one bit. I stood up and turned out the lights and made my way to my room but as I walked past Maria's room the door opened,
"Jay?" She asked sleepily
"Hey, what are you doing up?" I asked her picking her up to bring her back into her bed
"Can you tell me a story?" She asked looking at me with her big brown eyes
"Alright but just a quick one. There once was a girl who had a curse placed on her and she couldn't talk, only sing, and she wanted more than anything but to find true love but no matter where she went no one wanted to hear her sing. So one day she was walking through a forest and she was singing a song and someone heard her, but not just anyone, a handsome prince, he thought to himself how beautiful this voice was and he followed it until he found himself standing behind a girl who sat at a river singing to the birds and the animals. The girl stood and turned and when she saw the prince she got scared so she started to run but the prince felt so in love with this girl that he ran after her and once he caught up to her he sang the song to her and she smiled, she looked into his eyes and she felt herself falling more and more in love with him. The girl explained to the prince that she had been cursed and coukd not talk, but only sing and the prince brought her to his kingdom and had every witch brought to his castle until he found someone to lift the spell and when he did the girl was so happy that she kissed the prince and they lived happily ever after" I finished the story that I just made up on the spot and as Maria fell asleep she whispered
"Chloe is your princess".
I walked to my room and flopped onto my bed, why does everyone think I like Chloe, I don't, I know how I feel and I hate that girl, I hate her, don't I?
