Chapter 18 - Big Break

Chloe's P.O.V
I was in one of the dance halls for class when a younger student came running in and spoke to Ms Brown quietly, when the student left Ms Brown waited for our class to finish our dancing before she spoke
"Chloe, the head mistress would like to see you in her office" she spoke loudly
"Yes miss" I nodded before walking to the side of the hall to gather my things.
I walked to the head mistresses office wondering what she would want to see me for but I kept coming up blank. I reached her office and knocked before entering,
"You wanted to see me miss" I spoke noticing a man sitting in one of the chairs in front of her desk, I've never seen him before, he wasn't a teacher here, he was wearing respectable clothing and had sheets resting on his lap
"Yes, please take a seat" my head mistress motioned to the unoccupied chair.
I sat down and waited for her to speak,
"Chloe this is John McCall from Juliard preforming arts college in America" she introduced as he held out his hand for me to shake, I shook his hand smiling politely
"Hello Chloe, I am here to speak to you about attending our preforming arts school" Mr McCall explained
"Oh my god, are you serious?!" I asked with a huge smile spreading across my face
"Yes, I seen you preform at the showcase and I spoke to the team back in America and we all think that you have what it takes, you are a very talented dancer" he told me
"Wow, that's amazing" I shook my head in disbelief
"Would you be interested in studying with us?" He asked
"Of course I would, I've always thought of applying once I was finishing up here" I explained
"Well, we would like for you to prepare a piece within the next 2 weeks and myself and another member of the team would watch you preform it as an audition to attend the college and if you preform well we would like you to begin attending our school immediately" he looked at me
"I can do that" I nodded
"Now I am aware that you are attending this school on a scholarship and I would like to let you know that if you get into Juliard you will be a scholar student and we will have you living with one of our families" he explained
"That would be perfect" I smiled
"Now, here are some forms I need you to fill out and return to me at your audition" he handed me a few sheets of paper "if you have any questions you can come to your headmistress or call me my number is on the bottom of the last form" he explained
"Okay thank you so much" I smiled shaking his hand
"You may go now Chloe" my headmistress smiled
"Thank you, it was a pleasure to meet you Mr McCall" I smiled before exiting the room.
The bell rang once I reached my locker and after placing my things in it I ran to the lunch room excited to tell everyone about the opportunity.

I was sat at the table waiting for them to come in and once I seen them I stood up,
"Get the fuck over here you're never gonna believe what happened" I smiled.

After telling them everything they were all congratulating me and hugging me but Jay seemed a bit off, I looked at him with eyes that asked if everything was okay and he smiled at me reassuringly. Everyone else left the table and it was just us and I took this opportunity to ask what was up with him,
"What's up? Is everything ok?" I asked turning to face him
"Yeah, I'm really happy for you and so proud but I just can't help but thinking about how I'd you get in to Juliard you will be going immediately" he looked down
"Are you afraid of what it means for us?" I ask taking a hold of his hand
"Kinda, you'll be in America on a completely different time zone, how would we make thin fa work?" He asked sad
"I don't know, but this is an amazing opportunity, I would be a fool to pass it up and I would never forgive myself if I did" I explained
"I know and I would never ask you to do that, but I just know it would be the end of us and it scares me" he shrugged "I need to go to my locker but I'll see you at lunch" he smiled and kissed my cheek before walking away.

I never thought about what this would mean for Jay and I, I was just so excited and I meant what I said I would be a fool to pass on this opportunity but I love Jay and I don't want things to end.....

It was the end of the day and Jay had seemed to lighten up a lot and was starting to get excited for me, when we got to my house he ran into the kitchen where my mum was cooking dinner,
"Chloe has amazing news" he smiled
"What is it?" My mum asked laughing
"I have an audition in 2 weeks , to get into Juliard mum" I smiled
"Oh my god hunny that's anazing!" She squeeled and hugged me
"The thing is, if I get in, I'll be starting in the college immediately" I explained
"Well hunny I know it will be hard but you've worked most of your life for this moment" she smiled sadly
"I know" I nodded
"this could be your big break" she held my hands.

We all had dinner and my mum went to work and Jay and I were sat watching tv when I turned to him,
"What if I get in?" I asked
"Well then you will go to America and live your dream" he smiled
"But like you said earlier, what would it mean for us?" I looked at my hands in my lap
"Look, I would never stop you from going and I love you so much but I know the best thing would be for us to end things before you left on good terms" he explained
"But I love you Jay and I want to be with you" a year slipped from my eye
"Hey" he wiped the tear from my face "if we are meant to be together we will find our way back to each other" he smiled
"Do you really believe that?" I asked
"Of course I do" he nodded "but we're not breaking up yet! You are gonna work incredibly hard on your dance over the next 2 weeks and when you get in and you book your flight we will spend as much time together until I'm kissing you goodbye at the airport" he kissed my forehead pulling my in for a hug
"I love you so much Jay" I sniffed
"I love you too" he sighed
