Chapter 11 - Showtime

Chloe's P.O.V
This is it, the showcase is finally here, and we're screwed.
We rehearsed more than ever the past week and argued more than ever and we still can't do it right and it's become a routine for Jay to storm out and leave and foe me to breakdown crying. It's coming up to our first preformance and I'm so nervous and I haven't even seen Jay. We're preforming our song first and I'm trying to think of ways I can put emotion into the song but I can't think of anything and I'm starting to panic,
"We found Jay! Now we're going to see if we can fix ye" Rebecca says running up to me woth Barry
"Rebecca I can't go out there and preform the way we have been the past while, we'll look a joke!" I admit
"Look Chloe, you and Jay ye like each other and ye know what ye want to say to each other you just don't know how, well here's how, say it through your preformance, show him you like him through the preformance and if you do that ye will be okay" she hugs me
"I don't know if I can do it" I look down
"Yes you can, I know you can" she smiles
"I gotta go get myself ready but you'll be okay I love you" she smiled
"I love you" I smiled back
"Goodluck Chloe" Barry patted my shoulder
"Thanks" I smiled at him.

Jay and I go on in minutes and he hasn't come near me, in fact I haven't even seen h-
"Hey" he smiled awkwardly
"Oh hi" I returned the awkward smile
"Look-" he was cut off by Cameron

"I just wanted to wish you goodluck" he said and kissed my cheek before running off

"What did you wanna say?" I asked once Cameron was gone
"I wanted to say that-" he was cut off again

"Ye're on" our headmistress said excitedly as she ushered us on stage.

The curtains were closed and there were just 2 stools set out, we took our seat and faced each other as our headmistress was in fromt of the curtain introducing us and as those curtains opened I remembered what Rebecca said to me minutes before and I smiled at Jay.

That was the best preformance we have dome of that song over the past 3 months!!!!!!
The emotion was there and it was strong and it was real. Once the curtains closed we walked off stage and before we got to say anything to each other I was tackled by Rebecca
"That was amazing!!!!" She squeeled
"Thank you" I laughed
"You better go get ready for the dance" she pushed me towards the dressing rooms.
I got changed into my outfit for the dance and I fixed my makeup, I marked the dance and went over it in my head while keeping Rebeccas advice in my mind. We are the last preformance of the show so we have to be amazing but after our last preformance I don't have a doubt in the world that we will be and I'm so excited. There was a knock at my door and I went to open it and I found Jay standing there,
"You okay?" I asked
"Yeah I just wanted to say well done?" He said sounding more like a question
"Are you asking me or telling me?" I laughed
"I really-" he got cut off
"Five minutes til the last preformance" James announced
"We better get to the wings" I said stepping out of the room
"Yeah let's go" he smiled.

The curtains were closed, we were on the stage doing some final stretches while our headmistress thanked everyone for coming and talked about the hard work of all the students and everything and then she started to talk about Jay and I and that's when we knew to get into position and in a matter of seconds the curtains were pulled open and the music began to play. As we danced through the routine I could feel the emotion coming from both of us and it felt amazing and with each lift the audience grew more intruiged in our story we were portraying on the stage and when he lifted me that last time and as we stared in each others eyes, it was like the applause was muffled, I could hear my heart beating loud and it felt like we stood there just the two of us staring into each others eyes for minutes but really is was only seconds before we realised what was happening and pulled apart. We bowed and walked off stage and immediately he pulled me into this tight passionate hug and when we pulled apart we were still close and we smiled until,
"Un-fucking-believable"
CAMERON!
He started to walk away and I pulled from Jays arms
"Cameron wait!" I called out running after him,
I caught up to him in the hall of the school, there was no one there, just us,
"I knew it! You know I had a feeling something was going on-" he started
"Cameron no! Nothing happened between us okay! We just hugged!" I reassured him
"Really? I seen you two out there, there's something between ye!" He stepped closer to me
"There is nothing between us ok! We're friends that's it!" I told him
"So you're telling me that you don't have any feelings for him? At all?" He asked and I stayed silent "exactly, that's what I thought! Why didn't you just tell me instead of dragging me along?" He asked
"Because I was confused I didn't know what was going on! I had feelings for you but they're not the same as what I feel for him" I admitted
"Do you love him?" He asked
"What?"
"Do you love him?" He asked again
"I-I don't love anyone, you know I don't just love people unless I'm sure and either way I've just accepted that I like him and nothing has even happened between us so no I don't love him" I answered
"Could you?" He looked at me
"What do you mean?" I furrowed my eyebrows
"Could you love him? Do you see yourself loving him?" He asked
"Maybe" I sighed looking down
"Then tell him"
"What?" My head snapped up
"Tell him how you feel" he laughed "me and you are done but I still want to be your friend" he smiled and hugged me before turning around and starting to walk away,
"Wait, how did you know?" I asked curious
"I could see it when ye finished the dance it was obvious to everyone" he smiled.

I couldn't help but feel sad as I walked back to the theater, I mean yes I don't have feelings for Cameron anymore but I did at one point. I ran into the crowd leaving the theater and found my mum and brother, they hugged me and told me I was amazing and I thanked them before I said I wpuld meet them back home. I walked to the theater and it was completely empty and I just sat at the side of the stage thinking until I heard footsteps,
"You okay?" He asked
"He broke up with me" I sniffed
"What?! Why would he do that all we did was hug-" I cut him off
"He said that I like you" I sighed
"Well did he even give you a chance to explain that he was wron-" I cut him off again
"He's not wrong"
"What?" He asked in a whisper
"God, I hated you and then three months ago happened" I laughed "Everyone was telling me I liked you and I denied it, until I couldn't anymore" I shrugged and looked down but I felt his hand on my face bringing me to look at him,
"I like you too" he smiled before he leaned in a kissed me and all I could feel were butterflies.

Rebecca's P.O.V
Barry and I were walking around looking for Chloe and Jay after what happened with Cameron but we couldn't find them and I was worried about Chloe cause god only knows what happened between her and Cameron.
We walked backstage and started walking towards the stage when we heard talking, when we made it to the wings we seen Chloe and Jay sitting on the edge of the stage talking,
"He broke up with me" she sniffed
"What?! Why would he do that all we did was hug-" she cut him off
"He said that I like you" she sighed
"Well did he even give you a chance to explain that he was wron-" she cut him off again
"He's not wrong"
"What?" He asked in a whisper
"God, I hated you and then three months ago happened" I laughed "Everyone was telling me I liked you and I denied it, until I couldn't anymore" she shrugged and looked down but he placed his hand on the side of her face bringing her to look at him,
"I like you too" he smiled before he leaned in a kissed her,
Well we let them pull apart before we walked out from behind the wings,
"FINALLY!" We yelled in unison giving them both a fright
"How long were ye there?" Chloe asked with and eyebrow raised
"Since you said Cameron broke up with you" I smiled
"Nosey" she laughed
"We need to celebrate this!" Barry clapped
"Celebrate what?" Chloe asked
"You two" I motioned between her and Jay
"Well there isn't a us two, we just-" I cut her off
"Admitted ye're feelings for eachother" I raised an eyebrow
"And kissed" Barry said happily
"And then I asked you to be my girlfriend" Jay looked at her and everyone froze
"What did you just say?" She asked looking at him
"Would you be my girlfriend?" He laughed
"Of course" she smiled and I've never seen her smile bigger or brighter.

Chloe's P.O.V
We went out to the parking lot and found Jays family talking to my family, Jay and I shared a glance,
"Oh no" we said in unison while Barry and Rebecca laughed,
"What are you all talking about?" I asked when we got near them
"Juat how amazing you two were in the show" Helen answered
"They have news" Barry squeeked
"Barry!" Rebecca, Jay and I said at the same time
"I'm sorry I just couldn't hold it in at least I didn't say what the news is" he argues
"What's the news?" My mum asked
"They're dating now" Barry let it out
"BARRY!" The three of us turned to him
"I'm sorry" he laughed
"Oh my god that's great!" My mum said
"All I can say is finally" Luke patted Jay on the head
"I'm so glad" Helen said before she hugged me.

That night Jays family invited us all around to their house and we got a takeaway and we made everything but the kitchen sink sundaes.
