Chapter 2 - Not a Hope

Chloe's P.O.V
It has been a few days since the announcement but I still haven't gotten paired up with anyone yet, I'm really nervous because everyone else has started to work on their preformance but I can't and whoever I'm paired with hasn't gotten the chance to start preparing either and I feel bad for them too, we all have the same weight on our shoulders about this showcase.
I was in one of the dance rooms working one on one with Ms Brown, one of our teachers, when our head mistress came in, she let me finish my dance and clapped,
"That was amazing Chloe" she smiled
"Thank you" I said out of breathe taking a drink of water
"But I'm not here to see you dance, I'm here to tell you who you will be preforming with in the showcase"
This is it, I could feel how nervous I was in my stomach and it felt like there was a long silence when really she paused for like a second,
"Jay, come in" she spoke a little louder
Oh no, no no no, this can NOT be happening. Jay walked into the room and just like me his eyes grew wide and that's when the talking started
"No, I can't preform with him!"
"There is no way I'm preforming with her she'll mess it all up"
"I'll mess it all up? You can't take anything seriously"
"I take my future seriously and I am not depending on you!"
"You depending on me? At least I have a heart I would never destroy your future but you couldn't give a crap about mine"
"You don't even have a future"
"How would you know? You don't even take your head out your own arse long enough to see what the people around you are doing"
"I know I'm good I don't see how that's a bad thing"
"You're cocky and you only care about yourself there is no way i'm preforming with you"
"QUIET" our head mistress shouted "You two will be preforming together in the showcase-"
"Not a hope I am not doing that" I said cutting her off, now usually I would never do that to her but right now I am that annoyed I don't care
"Yes you are, in fact you two have the most important preformances" she smiled
"Preformances?" Jay asked questioningly
"Yes! You two will be dancing and singing together" she smiled "You are two of the most talented people to attend this school and I think that ye will make each other better and ye need to put ye're differences aside and learn that in this industry you are going to have to work with people you don't like but you have to get over it and if you don't like it you lose the job"
"But this isn't a job, can't you just pair us with other people?" Jay whined
"You're right this isn't a job, but if you two can't put your differences aside neither of you will be preforming in the showcase" and with that said Jay and I stared at each other and said
"Fine"
"Okay".

It was free period and usually this would be the time everyone went and did their own rehearsing but with the showcase coming up and us all being put into groups, everyone is off preparing their pieces for the showcase which meant I was sitting in one of the dance halls waiting for Jay and I have been for the last ten minutes,
"Alright, are you ready?" He asked as he strolled in
"Are you being serious? You are ten minutes late! I knew you wouldn't give a shit about this" I sighed and rolled my eyes
"Look I got held up in the hall by some girls, I can't help it that the ladies love me" He smirked
"Oh shut up" I groaned "Can you even dance?" I asked
"Yes I can dance, I got in here for all round preforming" he said smugly
"Wow big whoop so did I" I said walking past him to place my water bottle down
"Yeah but at least I'm paying for my education" he mumbled
"Excuse me? I may not have a rich family who could afford to send me here and I may have had to request for a scholarship but I work my ass off every day to pay off that scholarship" I snapped
"Yeah yeah, look are we doing this or not?" He rolled his eyes
"Sadly we have to" I narrowed my eyes at him.
I walked over to stand in the middle of the floor and he followed but stood by my side and we looked at each other in the mirrored wall in front of us,
"So, what now?" He asked
"Oh my god, have you never choreographed a dance before?" I put my head in my hands
"I have but it's been awhile" he shrugged
"Okay well first we need to pick music, any ideas?" I asked turning to look at him
"It needs to be good-" he started but I cut him off
"Of course it has to be good, we're the most important preformance in the show" I rolled my eyes
"Yeah" he said irritated "So we need a dance with emotion" he put the idea forward
"I've got an idea, we play war music and at the end of the dance I stab you several times until you bleed out" I smile
