Jaxyl

Rogues?

"Rogues!" I shout in question, taking off behind them.

"Attacking the Guards' wing," Tez informs me.

"What the hell?" I grumble to myself.

We shifted once we made it outside of the building. I didn't ask anymore questions, I just followed the two through the town until we arrived at the guards area of the city. The streets were empty of any weres, as they should be.

Any were living on this side of town, who isn't a part of the guard, must be in their home or somewhere safe.

Boom!

The three of us came to a unsteady halt after an explosion sounds in the near distance. A cloud of smoke followed.

"Damn! The fuck is going on guys?" Tez links Terry and I before we quicken our pace towards the explosion.

Boom! Another one. This time, it went off to the right of the one before.

"Should we split?" Terry asks.

"No!" I answer. "It's better to stay together until we know what we're up against."

"Link the high ranks to sound the alarms," I order him.

Not a minute later, emergency alarms are heard throughout the entire pack ground. The alarms alert everyone in the pack of an emergency. Every pack member needs to find safety and prepare for anything to come.

As we reach the perimeter we see complete turmoil. My body freezes and I feel my heart practically stop beating.

The security towers we built are blown to bits. My men and women are hurt, screaming in pain, and few laying lifeless on the ground.  I was lucky to see that there was no active battle going on.

Just complete turmoil.

What is going on?

What do I do?

What do I do?

"Jax!" I feel someone nudging my body. "This is not the time to freak out." Tez, now shifted, grabs my head. "Our people are hurt. Snap out of it and shift so we can help them," he encourages me.

I shift, quickly throwing the clothing I held in my snout back on.

"Medics! We need medics to the Guard perimeter, both towers. Hurry!" I spoke through the mind link, opening my wall to the entire pack.

Thousands of worried and concerned voices ran through my mind. It almost made it too hard to focus.

I ran to the nearest injured person near me. A blonde woman, screaming in pain while she lay with her leg crushed under a large piece of rubble from the fallen tower.

Dirt, sweat, and anguish covered her features.

"Hey," I approach with the calmest voice I can muster. "What's your name?"

"Amanda," she cries. "Alpha, help me please."

I don't know what the fuck to do. Why is this happening, Goddess? Why?

I gulp, using my strength to pick up the concrete off of her leg. She screams even more as I move it. The sight of blood gushing from her leg almost makes me faint. Without any second thought, I take my t-shirt off and tie it around her leg to control the bleeding.

"Oh, Goddess! I'm going to lose it am I?" she exclaims. "I'm going to lose my leg!"

"No, no, help is on the way, Amanda," I try to avert her likely valid thoughts. "Just breathe," I encourage her.
