War has been declared.

I have yet to actually hear that from any official from the Barbaric Pack but the acts of violence they've committed against my pack tells us all.

We are at war. But I can't publicly declare that until I know for sure that Tad is behind this mess.

After the first attack, they came back the next day with more missiles to destroy our tours and weaken our defenses. With patrol being more alert, we were able to stall with battle briefly before they succeeded in their mission.

Our only fault was not expecting them to be back the next day.

Luckily, there were no fatalities, only survivable injuries.

I sat in my chair as my council and high ranks piled into the meeting room. The previous pack officials joining as well. As rookies, my comrades and I need all the advisory we can get right now. If only Darius were here... I wonder how he'd be handling this situation right now.

When they all arrived and were seated, I started the meeting.

"Thank you all for being here," I start. "I want to start by saying that it may be necessary to declare war against the Barbaric Pack soon."

I see looks of surprise and mostly confusion go around the room. I hold my hand up before anyone can question me.

"I have reason to believe that they are behind the recent attacks we've expereinced."

"Why would the Barbarics attack us?" Council Hambers speaks up. "We don't have any bad history with them. "

Shit. Should I lie? Why is that always my first option?

I can get in serious trouble for lying to the council, but I could also get in trouble for telling the truth.

"Um..." I look around the room, locking eyes with my dad. His face held no emotion but I heard his voice in my head.

"Honesty is respected no matter how bad the truth may be."

I looked over at Adarian who's also wearing the same expression as my father. He's still upset with me but I know he doesn't want to be outed. I have to tell the truth though. I have to.

"It concerns Lieutenant Reese," I admit. "He was a previous member of the Barbaric Pack before he joined Blue-Valia. He and the alpha, Tad Kryllen, had...personal ties," I explain.

"I think he's seeking vengence," I finish.

"Vengeance! Whatever spilled milk he has with Lietenant Reese should be solved with him!" Council Jones practically shouts.

Her face turned red and her lips curled. Her grandson is apart of the guard and among one of the injured of the first attack. "What could have possibly happened between them that would make him attack us? People who have done him no wrong."

"I think he feels that by allowing Adarian to join our pack, we are wronging him, council. You know how the Kryllen's are."

"I've lived long enough to know exactly how they are!" she grumbles. "That lunatic should have stepped down by now anyway. But who knows he's worse off in the head than his father was. He'll probably sit on his throne until he rots."

"Context is not our main concern at this moment," I attempt to switch gears. "Our borders are completely defenseless, besides our patrol but that is weak considering what they've already managed to do."

"We need to rebuild our defenses but in the mean time we need more protection--more security. As of now, if they came back seeking an actual invasion they would succeed. Our guard consist of only eight hundred weres in which a hundred are only city patrol, and approximately another two hundred currently injured."
