Jaxyl
"You have got to be kidding me," I sigh.
Darius notices our presence, looking at me with wide, panicked eyes. "Please, help. My authority isn't working on her."
His strength doesn't seem to be working well either. I tap into my inner alpha, letting my wolf have a bit of control.
"Naya, let go of your sister," I command, my voice slightly deeper than before.
After a few seconds, she hesitantly loosens her grip from Niro's neck. Darius quickly pulls her back, creating much needed space between the two.
"Thank you," he says with a tired and frustrated breath.
"That bitch is lucky," Naya grumbles.
"No, you're just fucking crazy!" Niro retorts with a menacing glare.
Naya attempts to lunge at her sister again but was stopped by her mate. "Goddess," he hissed, holding her tightly.
I could tell he was about to lose his cool if the girls didn't stop fighting. Darius can be really mean when he's pissed off.
"Naya, stop! Go get your ass in the fucking car," he orders her. She shot a murderous look towards him and her twin before storming away and out of the building.
"Niro, I'm sorry. I thought that she would behave herself tonight."
"Whatever," she rolls her eyes. "Listen, I know you meant well by trying to bring us together but she'll never get over what happened between us. From now on, let's just keep our distance okay?"
The hurt on his face from her suggestion was evident but he nods in agreement. Before walking away, she gave Adarian and I an awkward nod of acknowledgement.
"Naya is a handful," he blew out a breath. "Everytime she sees Niro she wants to rip her head off. I can't even mention her name around her."
"Is she taking her meds?" I ask.
"Whenever we can force her to. She hates it but it's the only thing that keeps her in check," he answers.
"Darius, you have to make sure she's taking her medication as prescribed. If she lashes out at her own sister like this, who knows what she'll do to another pack member that pisses her off. I really don't want to have to institute her but if she leaves me no other choice..." I trail off.
"This is her only warning," I tell him. I'm slightly surprised at my sternness but I mean every word, even though it may seem harsh.
I witness an emotion that my friend has never felt towards me flash through his eyes. Still, he quietly nods before walking away.
I suddenly felt guilty for being so hard but I remind myself...I'm the alpha now and I have to behave as such. Even if that means putting my foot down with those closest to me.
"Shall we?" I took Adarian's arm and we entered the theater.
"I told you the movie was going to be great!"
"I never said it wasn't going to be great."
"Oh, hush. Where are we going now?" I ask.
"Didn't you plan this night?"
"Yes, but I only had a movie in mind," I shrug.
We would've been sitting in the car trying to figure out what our next move was going to be for another twenty minutes if my stomach didn't growl in hunger.
