Chapter 8

Alec left the apartment and Magnus found himself sitting there smiling to himself, he can't quite believe this is happening. That kiss was the best thing he had experienced in such a long time and Magnus can't quite remember the last time he craved someone so much, Alec was only been gone for 5 maybe 10 minutes and Magnus was missing him already. He sat back on the sofa laid his head back closed his eyes and went back to the moment when Alec actually asked him he was so happy, but his happiness was soon overtaken by another thought. Fear. He started to think about it. About the thing everyone said he should tell Alec  about he himself even he knew you should never have a relationship with secrets right? Alec would accept him wouldn't he? He really wanted to tell him but he was just so scared. Scared that Alec would freak and leave and Magnus really don't know what he would do if he lost Alec now he already means so much to him. He really didn't want risk losing this amazing feeling he had everytime he saw or spoke to Alec, to his Alexander. 'I lov-' he cut off his own thoughts. Did he? Did he love Alec?

Alec sat on the subway train that was heading back to the station near his apartment, gazing out the window while images of Magnus played in his mind. He was brought back to reality by the vibration of his phone, he took it out his pocket to find it was Izzy, his sister calling him. He answered "hello Izzy." "Hey big bro. Where are you?" "Just getting off the train as we speak" he said "okay well hurry we need to talk" she said quickly "what? about what?" "Simon and your date with your new boyfriend" "we aren't official yet and wait nerdy Simon" he said. Then realised that he wanted Magnus as his boyfriend but didn't know how to bring up the subject he thought to himself. "Alec? You still there?" Izzy called "yeah I'm here. I'm just around the corner. I'll speak when I get in" "okay see you soon" and they both hung up. Alec walked in the house shut the door, he turned and jumped a little "OMG IZZY! You scared the crap out of me" he shouted clutching his heart as if he was having a heart attack. She looked at him with a smirk on her face "what?" Alec said walking past her into the kitchen knowing full well what she wanted. She followed him swiftly behind. He went to the fridge and get himself a bottle of water, he turned around to find Izzy perched up on a stool at the kitchen island with a cake in front of her. He went to sit opposite looked at the cake and found it was his favourite; a cream donut with rainbow icing. He looked at it wide eyed and then glared at her "why are you sat there with that cake in front of me?" He said raising his eyebrows. She pushed the plate towards Alec "oh it's not for me" she said smiling "okay I'll rephrase the question. Why are you sat there with a cake in front of me for me?" "No reason" she said with that smile she does when she wants something. "Hmm okay then" he said unsure but went to take a bit anyway but then stopped "wait a minute. What's the catch. There's always a catch with you" "no I'm just being a nice sister to my darling brother" she said with a sarcastic smile. "If you say so" Alec said still not believing her. They just sat there in a awkward silence "so. How was work?" Alec rolled his eyes "just ask" he said sighing. "How was it? Did you?" She asked excited "on the first date really Izzy? Not even you would do that" he said shaking his head Izzy looked at him pretended to be offended "and anyway I came straight back here. You'd know if you was here" he continued "where have you been anyway? I haven't seen you since before the date" Alec enquired.  "Okay but don't yell or moan at me. I went to see mom" she said scared of his reaction "why would I yell for you going to see mom. Just because she's disowned me doesn't that your not allowed to see her Iz" Alec told her and he could see that she physically relaxed. "So what happened with you and Magnus?" Izzy said getting back to the subject "we went to the Hunters Moon to listen to some live music then he walked me home" Alec told her quickly. "Did you kiss?" When Alec did say anything Izzy started to get really excited "omg you did" she said loudly clapping her hands. She then came to the realisation that it was raining that night "wait it was raining. You didn't? You kissed in the rain?! OMG that's so cute!" She shouted. Alec just blushed and stood there taking little sips out of his water. "You have to bring him over I need to meet him!" "No! I'm not having you bombard him with question like you always do" Alec told her sternly "that's not fair you always meet my boyfriends before anything gets serious" she told him looking expectant "well for one you don't have serious boyfriends and 2 well we haven't exactly said what it is we are" he said looking a little sad. "Alec you need to talk to him because if I'm right in thinking you've seen this guy for two weeks before you had the courage to ask him out and then 2 days after the date you're at his. You need to tell him" Alec nodded knowing she was right and walked out the door.

*meanwhile in Magnus's apartment*
Magnus was still sat there in his thought thinking about what happened and his feelings when suddenly sit next down dragging him back to reality. "Caterina when did you get here?" "Just I did knock but when you didn't answer I just came in" she told him "what's wrong" she said concerned. "It's nothing don't worry about it" Magnus told her shaking his head but Cat was having none of it "ahem, I don't think so I'm your best friend and whatever it is I'm not leaving till you talk. So this call for a drink?" She said eyebrows raised. "Maybe. Whiskey rocks." "Wow that bad" she said as she got up to pour two drink and handed one to Magnus "start talking". They sat there for around 30 minutes with Cat, explaining everything; how he felt when he was with Alec, when he was without; like a piece of him was missing and about his feelings about him in general. Cat sat there listening intently. "I think I'm falling for him Cat" he told her in confidence "so what's the problem? Except for the obvious" "and what is the obvious" Magnus asked confused. "It's not a what it's a who" she said eyebrows cocked "oh her. She's the reason I haven't said anything. She destroys everything I love and if she takes Alexander away too I don't know what that'll to me. I'm scared Cat" Magnus said with his voice starting to crack and tears threatening his eyes. Cat pulled him into an embrace "hey everything well be fine, we'll figure it out." They pulled away from the hug "but you need to talk to him, tell him what you told me about your feelings" and she stood and starting walking to the door, Magnus followed her "your right I'll talk to him. Thank you Cat as always" they hugged each other one last time and Magnus opened the door to let her out and was greeted by a familiar face "Alexander".
