Chapter 12

Alec finally reached Magnus' loft and was panting hard after running the whole way there. He got to the front door knocked on it and waited for Magnus to answer but didn't and went to knock again but stopped when he heard a glass smash and what sounded like Magnus breaking into a sob shouting "go away! Leave me alone!" He knocked on the door again and called out "Magnus it's me, Alec. Please let me in" he pleaded with his head against the door. He suddenly heard footsteps approaching the door, Alec stepped back and the door opened showing a broken Magnus "oh my Magnus. What happened" Magnus shook his head unable to say. Magnus' legs started to buckle but Alec caught him before he fell, he picked him up and carried him into his bedroom and dropped him softly into the bed. "Wait here. I'll be right back" he started to walk out the bedroom "Alexander" Alec heard a broken voice he turned round "please stay" Magnus pleaded fighting back the tears that were trying to escape. Alec walked up to Magnus and cupped his face "hey I'm not going anywhere. I'm just going to get you a glass of water then I'm coming back then you're not getting rid of me" Magnus made soft chuckle. Alec walked into the kitchen made a glass of water walked back into the living room before going back to the bedroom he didn't notice before but there was smashed glass everywhere burned spot all over the walls and floor. It looked as if someone had thrown some type of fire ball but that was insane and Alec shook the thought away straight away and walked back into the bedroom and sat down next to Magnus and gave him the glass of water. Magnus took and looked at Alec thankfully "Alexander?" Alec looked over at Magnus "did run over here and shouldn't you be at work?" Magnus inquired Alec chuckled "well for one I can leave work when I want" Alec told him "I own the place" he quickly added to the strange look Magnus was giving him "and also I've had a strange day something I need to talk to you about" Magnus raised his eyebrows "what happened" but he had a feeling that he already knew what it was. "I had a customer today she didn't order anything just started talking about how she knew me that you always talk about me to her and that you and her were very close" Magnus sighed and shook his head sadly. "What was her name?" Magnus asked closing his eyes trying to prepare himself for the answer Alec was about to give. "Camille. Do you know her?" Magnus nodded his head and put his head into hands. Alec noticed his shoulders shaking as if Magnus was crying, then he heard it, a broken sob coming from Magnus and him repeating "I'm so sorry. I'm so sorry" over and over like mantra. Alec jumped off the bed and knelt in front of Magnus he grabbed his hand and tried to pry it away from his face so he could look Magnus in the eye. Magnus resisted but eventually got his hands away. He looked at Magnus and saw a tear stained face, Alec cupped his face "talk to me Mags. I can't help if you won't talk. What are you sorry for because as far as I can see you've done nothing wrong" Magnus looked up at Alec who looked at Magnus as if he was his entire world. Magnus nodded. "Okay. I will tell you but you just need to listen don't talk and please please please try not to freak out when I tell you" Alec nodded "of course I'll just listen and let you tell me" Magnus stood up and lifted Alec up too and the two walked into the living room sat down and took a deep breath preparing himself for the truth to be told.
