The One That Got Away

10 Years Later

10 years had passed; Magnus and Alec were now happily married for the past 5 years with two beautiful children. A boy named Max, who was a warlock, skin coloured sky blue and with little horns and the other a girl named Ally, who was also a warlock with bright pink skin. Both were very young when Magnus and Alec adopted them and hadn't quite been able to control there magic just yet but with time Magnus had helped them. Max being a quick study was able to master his magic quickly but Ally it took her longer and the longer it took the more frustrated she would get with herself but Magnus was very patient with her and she got there.

Magnus and Alec were now sat in the living room watching tv fingers interlocked, though only Magnus was watching Alec's mind had slipped somewhere else. He was thinking about the day that they had the call from Caterina telling them there was a boy warlock who was in need of a home and without a moments hesitation they both went to the place.

FLASHBACK
They went inside and met with Caterina who was inside waiting for them. Caterina walked up to them and embraced them both into a hug "Alec, Magnus it's lovely to see you both again" with Alec just nodding and Magnus smiling "you too Cat. So where is he?" Magnus asked while looking around "oh Max he's in the other room." Cat said and she turned around and shouted "Max!" To which a little blue skinned warlock came running towards them. Magnus crouched down to the warlocks level. "Hey max I'm Magnus. This is Alec" he told the little boy while pointing at his husband. Max looked from Magnus to Alec and back to Magnus, he went to speak but hesitated. Cat crouched down to his level "hey Max it's okay you can ask them" she said softly knowing what he wanted to ask. Max nodded "are you? Um a warlock?" He spoke in a timid voice. Magnus who was still crouched down looked at Max "don't be scared. I'm like you. I'm a warlock" and he closed his eyes for a spilt second and when he opened them his cat eyes were showing. Max looked deep into his eyes and smiled fondly but he looked at Alec "what about him?" He asked Magnus. Alec then stepped forward "I'm just human Max" to which Max had a sudden look of terror and ran behind Magnus's legs. Cat turned to Alec "hey Alec it's not you, he's had a bad history with humans" Alec sighed "I'll meet you outside Mags" he said showing a fake smile, he was about to walk out of the door when he felt a hand slide into his and pull him back. "Alexander, don't go please. Here let me try something" and Magnus pulled Alec down with him towards where Max was still standing "hey Max, Alec here he would never hurt you. He may just be human but he's special. More special than any other human you've met" Magnus was telling Max while looking Alec with such love and squeezing his hand slightly. Then suddenly Max was slowly beginning to come out from behind Magnus and walked slowly towards Alec, he put his hand out and placed it in Alec's and when Alec didn't do anything but look at him with adoration and Max smiled at Alec. "Max do you like Magnus and Alec?" Cat asked softly, Max looked at Magnus and Alec and paused at Alec then looked back at Cat and nodded with a smile. She got down to her knees "well if you like they are here to give you nice home" Max's eyes lit up but then looked at Cat as if he had an unspoken question. Cat nodded "forever. I promise" and the biggest smile that Alec or Magnus had ever seen appeared on his face but that smile disappeared in no time and Max ran into another room. All they heard was shouting and all three ran into the other room to see there were 3 other warlocks. A little girl with pink skin stood behind Max and there were two bigger boys stood in front of Max and by the looks of thing Max was protecting this little warlock girl. "Leave her alone! What has she ever down to you?!" Max shouted standing up for the little warlock. "She set my toy on fire. That's what she did now move Maxwell before you get it too" the bigger warlock warned. Max didn't move a muscle but stood his ground "no and don't call me that! You know she can't control her magic fully! You know for a fact she didn't mean it. You're just bored and looking for someone to bully so you pick on the smallest one in here but I won't let you! Now go before this gets too out of hand Harold" Max shouted at them showing a little smirk at the end to which earned him a narrowed eyed look from the warlock Harold. Max turned round to face his friend who looked as if she was about to cry, Max pulled her into a hug "hey it's okay Ally I won't let anyone hurt you ever" they both pulled away and looked into each other's eyes "never okay?" Ally nodded "but you're leaving. I heard your conversation with them" Max shook his head "not without you" he told her. "Here come with me" and Max started to walk towards the three adults; that were watching on, with Ally following closely behind. "Magnus?" Max called "yes Max?" Magnus replied "I um I do want to live with you but. I um" and Max just looked at the ground feeling it was rude to ask but Magnus grabbed Max's hand to reassure him it was okay ask whatever it was he wanted to ask. "I don't want to leave Ally she's my best friend. Can she come too" he asked nervously, Magnus was about to speak but before he could say something Cat interrupted "Max don't you think that's a bit much for them to have the both of you?" She said softly as she could in an attempt to soften the blow of rejection. Max looked down at the floor in sadness "then I'm not coming not without her I won't leave her. Never. It's us or nothing. We come as a package" a voice spoke up but it wasn't Magnus "we'll take you both" it was Alec and Max looked up at him, ran to him and hugged him "thank you! Thank you! Thank you!" Max shouted with excitement than ran to Ally "see I told you I'm not leaving never I made you a promise and I'm never going to break it".
FLASHBACK ENDS

Alec heard a door open and two loud children run through bringing him back to reality. "DADDY! PAPA!" Both Max and Ally came in running at them them finally both jumping at Magnus and Alec. Max jumping onto Alec and Ally jumping on Magnus, "we were wondering something?" Ally asked them "what is it Sweetpea?" Magnus asked "Blueberry?" Alec asked "what's the story of you and and Papa falling in love?" Magnus and Alec turned to look at each other smiled and interlocked their fingers. And their love story began...
