Chapter 11

Just another day at the cafe for Alec except it was 12:30 in the afternoon and no sign of Magnus yet he was about to text him again when the doorbell to the cafe shop door rung, causing Alec look up abruptly and to his disappointment it wasn't Magnus like he thought and he had sudden sadness. Instead of Magnus it was a tall slender woman and even though Alec is gay even he could see that she was gorgeous with a pale white face, plump bright red lips, high cheek bones and a red dress that hugged her body so tightly and bright red high heels to match her dress and lipstick. She walked up to the til and spoke in a seductive way "hey Alexander, everything looks so tasty" she said and looked around at the people. He looked down at his chest to notice that he didn't have his name tag on and was confused as to how she knew his name "Yeah, erm, h-how do you know my name?" He asked quietly "oh my dearest Alexander that is simple. I'm a good friend of a friend. I'm Camille a friend Magnus Bane. He tells me you too are close?" She said smoothly with her eyebrows raised "well yes we are, he's my boyfriend." He told her point of fact. "You say you're a good friend but he's never mentioned you once" Alec said suspiciously. "You see Alexander-"before she could continue he cut her off "please call me Alec" Alec told her sternly not liking the way she said his name. She said it like she was trying to deceive him some how. "So. Camille, are you going to order something? If not I'm gonna have to ask you leave as you're holding up the queue" he said as politely as he could "hmm, I'm not hungry anyway. I'll see you around Alec" and she put emphasis on the 'Alec' she winked as she turned round and bumped into Caterina. "Caterina" Camille nodded to Cat and Cat did the same to Camille but with a lot more spite behind it. She walked up to the counter, up to Alec "hey Alec. We need to talk"

"you know Camille? She tells me she knows Mags" he said curiously, "yeah but we really need to talk can you take a break?" She asked "yeah, just go sit down and I'll be over in a minute" and Cat turned to go and sit down. Alec walked to the kitchen where the chef and the assistant chef were. Alec called the assistant chef "Underhill! Come cover I'm going on my break" and he hooked up his apron made himself and Cat a coffee, paid for them and went to sit opposite Cat and gave her the coffee. She smiled "thanks" Alec looked at her concerned "so I'm guessing this has something about Magnus since he was supposed come meet me at dinner but never showed" he said and lowered his head. Cat felt bad she knew why Magnus didn't come but it wasn't her place to say "look Alec, Magnus isn't feeling well at the minute but he needs someone to look after him and I need to get to the hospital for my shift in 30 minutes. So would you be able to get time from here to look out for him. He needs you Alec." Alec nodded "okay. Yeah I'm the manager here so I can." Cat stood up "thank you for the coffee but I really need to go. I'll see you around Alec" she went turn to leave when she was stopped in her tracks "is this something to do with Camille" Alec spat out without realising. Cat took a deep breath out and nodded "it is but you need to stay away from her. She's a nasty piece of work and her and Magnus have a past. But don't ask me I'm not going to spill his secrets go talk to him before it's too late. Please Alec" she told him pleading "he needs you more than you know" she added and with that she turned and left. Alec sat there stunned not knowing what to think. He had to talk to Magnus sort this mess, if he even could. He walked up to Underhill "look I've got to go run an errand" he turned to look at the clock on the wall "Maia will be here for her shift in 5 minutes just cover till she gets here" he slammed the keys for the cafe in the counter "I may not be back for shutting time. So tell Maia to lock up and take the keys round mine, Isabelle will be in" Underhill nodded "sure thing Boss" Alec walked out the cafe and ran to Magnus's loft.
