The One That Got Away

Chapter 3

"Where are we going" asked Alec as they stepped into the taxi.
"Well, it so happens that you don't live far from The Hunters Moon" Magnus said.
"Yes I know it" Alec confirmed.
"Yeah well there's a band playing there tonight; Rock Solid Panda." Magnus tells Alec.
"No way, I love them so much!" Alec exclaims "
"really?! Well I know the singer" Magnus tells him, Alec looks at him astonished.
"You know Simon Lewis?! No way!"
"Why is that surprising I know a lot of people" said Magnus.
"No, it's just I know his girlfriend Maia, she's the bartender in The Hunters Moon. What a coincidence" Alec says amazed. The taxi comes to a stop as they are now outside the pub. As Magnus looks at Alec he starts to get money out to pay for the taxi, but Magnus puts his hand over his and stops him Alec looks at him confused. "Tonight's all on me" Magnus smiled at Alec. Alec melted inside no one has ever offered to pay for so much in his life, he was starting really really like Magnus inside and out not just his looks but his personality he was such a caring gentlemen. They stepped out of the taxi and were walking side by side with their arms slightly brushing against each other, both could feel the electricity running through them every time their arms would touch. Suddenly, Alec had this urge to slide his hand into Magnus' so he had not knowing how Magnus would react alec just looked at him. Magnus felt a warm sensation on the inside of his hand he looked down at his hand to notice that Alec had done what Magnus had been wanting to do for so long, he looked up at Alec and could see that he was nervous so Magnus intertwined their fingers to conform to Alec it was okay and he could see Alec visibly relax. Magnus smiled at Alec and they walked in.

As soon as they walked in they could see the band setting up and Magnus saw Simon standing on the stage getting his mic ready. So he decided to go and say a quick hi pulling Alec with him "where we going?" Alec questioned "just to say hi" Magnus explained. They approached Simon and he looked up and saw Magnus jumped off the stage to hug him. "Magnus! It's been a while how are you?" "And who is this?" Simon said looking at Alec "This is Alec". "Hello Alec. I'm-" but Alec cut him off "Simon yeah I know your girlfriend Maia she talks about you" "all good don't worry" Alec quickly added. Alec turned to Magnus "I'm gonna go get a drink and say hi to Maia" "okay let's go" Magnus said. Simon pulled at Magnus' arm "Magnus wait!"  Magnus turned to Alec "just give us a minute and I'll be right there" Alec nodded and turned to walk to the bar. Magnus turned back to Simon "what is it?" Magnus asked confused "he doesn't know does he?" Simon said raising his eyebrows "know what exactly I'm not following" "come on Magnus, who you really are." Magnus looked down and Simon laid his hand on Magnus' shoulder "Magnus, he needs to know sooner rather than later you know what will happen if she finds out and if he finds out off her, you know it won't end well." Simon said sympathetically. "I will tell him, but I'm just scared you know that he'll freak and leave. I really do like him, I don't want him to leave too like everyone else" Magnus said sadly. "Just don't leave it too late Mags. Anyway we're nearly ready." "I can't wait to hear what you play tonight" Magnus said excitedly.

Magnus started walking over to Alec and saw he was deep in conversation with Maia. As he got closer he was in earshot of their conversation. "I just don't want you to get hurt again Alec but if you really like him like you say you do go for it. You deserve to be happy Alec." Maia said and gave Alec an encouraging smile. "Yeah, I do really like him but I really don't know what if he doesn't feel the same. How can I be sure" Alec said sadly "you won't know if you don't try Alec" then something made Maia look up and saw Magnus. He saw her look at him so he started walking to them and looked to turn to Alec "hey, you okay Alexander?" "I'm fine" Alec said smiling, but was still unsure about Magnus' real feelings. "What can I get you Magnus" Maia said "a martini please" she went away and a moment later returned with the martini. "Thank you" Magnus said with a smile which Maia returned. "I'll be right back just got to announce Simon's band on stage" she told them. Magnus and Alec turned excited towards the stage. "Hello everyone if I could have your attention, thank you. I would like to announce the music for tonight. The amazingly talented Rock Solid Panda". An applause went around the place and as soon as it died down Simon came to the mic "thank you everyone. So to kick off tonight will start tonight with a personal favourite song of mine and this is dedicated to anyone who are having any struggles right now just know you are not alone! This is In The Dark by Camila Cabello." The song started and Alec was swaying he really loved this song, Magnus look over at Alec and saw he was really enjoying the music, he nudged his arm "you like this?" He asked. "Yes I love this song so much" and Magnus smiled at Alec.

Alec could start to feel tears raising in his eyes as he more than loved this song it has always held special place in his heart, and a tear had escaped. Magnus looked at Alec as he noticed that Alec was no longer swaying and saw a single tear rolling down his face so he slipped his hand in Alec's and rubbed the back of his hand with his thumb to ensure Alec that it was okay and that he wasn't alone. Alec looked at Magnus to find him looking and giving him a smile and Alec could only nod at him while whipping away his tear. Then suddenly Magnus pulled Alec to sit on his lap and he happily obliged to do so, and Magnus wrapped his arms around Alec hugging him and Alec hummed appreciative. They stayed like this through the rest of the songs Alec was so happy to stay like that he felt safe in Magnus' arms like nothing in the world could harm him. That song ended and they stay hugging and content with each other for the next 5 songs

"So now we have 2 songs left to perform one another cover and one a self written which will be the final song for the night. Before that song though here is Perfect by Ed Sheeran and  his song I would like to dedicate to all this couples married or not" Simon said as he looked at Maia with such love in his eyes "and to those who are new or even on the first date" he said and looked directly at Magnus and smiled who looked down at Alec and said "this song is for you Alexander, it's what I feel" Magnus said. Alec turned around to face Magnus and looked confused at him. Magnus sighed "I heard what you said to Maia that you weren't sure whether my feelings were real well this song says them for me. I can assure you Alexander my feelings for you are the most real I've felt in so long." Alec looked at Magnus in such awe and reached up to Magnus' cheek with his hand and brushed Magnus' cheek with his thumb; Magnus just leaned into the touch. Alec turned back around Magnus hugged Alec from behind and they were in that position again and listened to the rest of the song

Then the song finished and the band started packing their stuff. "Hey shall we go it's getting late" Magnus said to Alec softly as he intertwined their fingers and they walk out the door to go home.
