The One That Got Away

Chapter 9

Magnus and Alec just stood there staring at each other with no concern for anyone or anything else. "You must be Alec" it was Cat pulling them both out of their little moment "yeah? And you are?" Sounding a little more rude than he expected. "This is Caterina my best friend. And was just leaving" spoke Magnus telling Alec "yes I was" Alec and Cat just held a stare for a while and did a friendly smile at each other. Cat turned to Magnus and hugged she leaned in and whispered "he's special I can tell don't push him away with you know what. Be happy Mags" they pulled away smiled "thank you Cat" and she turned about round to Alec wanting to talk with him. All it took was 10 seconds to realise what Cat wanting to do he smiled and shook his head "hey Alexander, do you want a drink?" Magnus asked to give them a bit of space, Alec perked up "erm yes please, a Scotch please" Alec said with a slight smile and with that Magnus turned to get him and Alec a drink while still sniggering at Cat. Cat turned round to glance at Magnus and could see he was out of earshot and turned back to Alec "look Alec since you've come into his life he seems and looks so happy so I'm grateful for that, you don't understand how grateful. So because I can see how happy you've made him and god knows he deserves it I'm going to give you a little advice when it concerns him. When he finds a problem and starts to struggle with it he will try and push people away. Don't let him push you away Alec if he does I don't know what will happen. Take care of him Alec." Cat told Alec hoping he would listen to her and maybe just maybe he would find in him to tell him and not keep it to himself. "I will thank you Caterina" they both smiled goodbye and just as Cat was about to walk out the door she turned around "oh and Alec?" Causing Alec to turn about around and looked at her "you can call me Cat" and with that she walked out and closed the door to the apartment leave Magnus and Alec the only ones there.

Alec turned round to see Magnus sat on the couch with two drinks, he walked over to join him and Magnus handed his drink. "Was I interrupting you two?" Alec asked "no not at all she just came by to give a bit of advice and and made me realise I've been so stupid" Magnus chuckled to himself "what a coincidence because my sister was just made me realise the same" they looked at each other deep in the eyes like they could get lost. Magnus put his glass on the coffee table in front and turned to Alec "so Alexander, what do I owe the wonderful pleasure of your surprise visit?" Magnus asked curious "not that I'm happy you're here" he added quickly. Alec also put his glass down and took a deep breath out but didn't say anything for a while and Magnus was starting to get a little worried. Magnus reaches over grabbed Alec's hand and squeezed a little "whatever it is take your time" Alec looked at Magnus and they both smiled softly at each other. "Okay so I was just wondering, what is this. Us?" Magnus chuckled a little realising what he meant "oh Alexander. What you want to know if this is a relationship?" Alec just looked at Magnus and Magnus started to leaned it, it was like he was being pulled in by some kind of force but Magnus didn't fight it. He leaned in further and their lips pressed together, Magnus licked Alec's lips asking for permission to enter which Alec granted opening his mouth allowing Magnus in. Magnus slid his hands up Alec's arms to his neck, taking the lead he pulled Alec closer wanting to deepen the kiss. After what felt like forever they separated pressed their foreheads against each other breathing in each other air, they just stayed there for a while to catch their breath with both having their eyes shut taking in the moment. The released each other and just looked at each other softly "does that answer your question?" Magnus asked, Alec just nodded. They spent the rest of the night just talking about their lives with Magnus cuddling up with Alec with his head on his shoulder and his hand on Alec's chest and he could hear the steadiness of Alec heartbeat.
