*Slight angst warning*
I started to walk along a colorful field overflowing with flowers. It was quite a relaxing sight to see. I decided to rest and take a nap, as I was becoming drowsy from walking for so long. I set my things down and lied under the warm spring sun. I closed my eyes and started to drift off feeling content.
"Wow, this is a beautiful place Snufkin. It's very lovely." Said the mysterious figure.
They had medium length hair that was the color of fresh charcoal. I couldn't quite see their eyes due to the white fog. They grabbed my hand and led me towards a stream. The season seemed to change right before my eyes, warm tones of autumn filled the area. They sat down on the grass patiently. I felt the weight of dead leaves in my hands. I was surprised to see a small boat resting in my palm. The memory started to come back to me, and the fog started to clear. The layout of Moominvalley appeared. I turned to look towards the mysterious figure and saw Jax looking at me expectantly, smiling. I was taken aback by the sweet moment. It was by far the best memory I had with Jax. I remember it quite frequently. Then everything started to fade to white. The boat, the valley, Jax. I panicked.
"Wait! I'm not ready! Please!" I yelled.
Desire, want, grief. I felt it all. Rain started to pour, I stood in front of a tomb stone. I couldn't quite read the name, it was blurry. I was shocked when I heard the sobs of someone beside me.
"Please, I want to get away from here. I can't stay in this town any longer. It will only bring me sadness." The voice said.
I looked over to see the mysterious figure. The fog blurred my vision. I reached out my hand towards the figure. I felt their fingers interlock with mine.
"I'm ready now." They said, their voice trembling.
I woke up in a pool of sweat, the sun looked like it was begging to set. I was still antsy from the dream I had only moments ago. I breathed deeply, trying to calm down.
"What a horrific dream." I said putting my hand on my head.
I tried to sidetrack myself with other things. I stood up and put my backpack on. As I started to walk out of the field I wondered.
"Is there really a stream down there?"
I sighed letting my curiosity get the best of me. I walked in the direction the mysterious figure led me. To my surprise there was. I stood in shock listening to the faint sound of water trickling down stream. I walked closer, looking at my reflection in the river. A fish hopped out of the water towards me which caused me to fall backwards quite startled. I laughed at myself for being so daunting.
"It's just a stream Snufkin, nothing to worry about."
I dusted myself off and continued my journey. Pushing the uneasy dream to the back of my mind.
