-Chapter 20- Snufkin

The season was starting to cool down again. I smiled knowing that Jax would arrive in two weeks. I started to grow quite fond of the young gnome over months of reflection.

"I'll just be happy knowing she's safe." I thought to myself.

"Snufkin!" Moomins familiar voice shouted.

I smiled knowingly.

"Snufkin, look!"

He held up a leaf that had just fallen from a tree. It was colored warmly in shades of reds and browns.

"The weather is also cooling down again! You know what that means!"

"Excited Moomin?" I asked smirking.

"Well, aren't you? You're the one who's interested." He retorted back.

I almost couldn't believe what I heard. Though I tried to play it off nonchalantly.

"Whatever do you mean Moomin?" I asked casting my fishing line, not making eye contact.

"Oh you know exactly what I mean Snufkin!"

I chuckled forcing down a flush.

"'Fraid not my friend."

"Well, the Snufkin I know wouldn't be fishing right now if he was in his right mind. The current is too fast. You would be aware of that unless something, or someone was on your mind." He inquired.

I furrowed my eyebrows glancing towards the stream. He was right.

"You can't hide it forever Snufkin. You have to tell her at some point. Just like I had to with Snorkmaiden.

I yanked my line out of the fast flowing stream and headed towards my tent.

"Snufkin."

"I just need some time to think. I'll be back out later, okay Moomin?" I asked with a slight smile.

"Okay, I suppose. We can talk about this at dinner if you feel comfortable. I know it's hard for you Snufkin, but you can talk to me. You're my best friend after all."

"I know Moomin. Thank you for being patient."

"What are friends for?" He said with a smile.

I waved as he walked back towards Moominhouse, leaving me to my thoughts and emotions.

"Two weeks, just two more weeks." I thought to myself.

"Everything is going to be fine."
