Lab partner

David's pov
"Hey" I said to my new lab partner "hey" she replied "David Dobrik" I said holding out my hand "Liza Koshy" she replied smiling and shaking my hand "such a gentleman" she laughed "I do try my best" I replied. "One thing you should know about me is that I'm the clumsiest person alive and will probably set fire to this whole place" Liza said "oh yeah me too so at least if we set the place on fire we will be in it together" I said "that's a good point" she said laughing. The whole science class, we joked around and talked instead of listening and learning like we were supposed to but it was super fun. The bell soon rang and it was sadly time to go "I'll see you around then David" Liza said as she packed away her pencil case "yeah I'll see you around" I said smiling as I walked out. "You seem happy?" Dom asked me as he patted my back "really?" I asked "yeah what's going on?" He asked "oh not much, just had a good class" I replied.

"No way" Liza said hitting my chest and laughing. We were at my house 'studying' for our science test but we were mostly laughing and talking. "How about we give up on studying and watch a film?" I suggested "sounds good, snacks?" She asked "yup" I said pulling out my secret stash of chips, popcorn and candy "you're the best" she said as she opened some skittles "aren't I just" I replied. "Can I stay over tonight?" Liza asked "of course, why?" I replied, she shrugged. I noticed something off about her for the past few days, like something is going on that she won't tell me about. "Liza, you know you can tell me if something is wrong right?" I asked, she nodded but her eyes filled with tears, I immediately hugged her "tell me" I said to her as I rubbed her back to comfort her "it's just at home, it's not good my mom and dad are always fighting and I can't deal with it, they hate each other and they hate me and-" she said before breaking down again "it's okay, I've got you. You don't need to worry about that here" I said to her "I always worry about it" she whispered "don't, it's not good for you. You can stay here as much as you like, come over every night if you have to" I told her, she nodded. "Thanks Dave, I love you" she said "I love you too, lizard" I replied still hugging her. We watched the rest of the movie cuddled up. This is all I want, my best friend by my side for everything. Sure, maybe our relationship is further than best friends but we kind of just go with it and don't talk about it plus I don't want to stress her out more.

"No you're stupider" Liza laughed pushing my chest a little "no you are" I said to her. "Whatever" she said shrugging. She'd been staying at my house for about two weeks and she seems so much happier, her parents don't even care that she's been gone for two weeks. "Liza" I said to her "yup" she said turning to me "You wanna go out for food with me?" I asked "like a date?" She asked blushing making me blush too "um yeah if you want" i replied "I would love that" she said hugging me, I smiled and wrapped my arm around her.

"You look pretty" I said to Liza as she shut the front door. "Do i not always look pretty?" She asked "no wait, I didn't mean. Of course you always look pretty, well beautiful actually, can I say that?" I asked stuttering and completely fucking up, "you're literally the cutest when you're nervous but don't be even if this doesn't work out we've gotta be friends right?" She asked I relaxed and nodded. "Of course" I said "good" she replied.

We got to the movies, we were watching Aladdin since liza loves the songs. "I'm so excited" she said "me too, popcorn my treat?" I asked, "you're the best" she smiled back "well I mean kinda" I said smiling.
"A whole new world!!!" Liza sung "don't you dare close your eyes" I sung back "a whole new world" she sand "hold your breath it gets better" I sung making us both burst into laughter. There was nobody else in the movie so we took advantage and sung at the top of our voices. "Liza" I said turning to her "I kinda maybe think I love you" I said, her face lit up and she smiled "yeah?" She asked, I nodded "I kinda maybe think I love you too david" she said, making me smile too. We looked into each other's eyes and pressed our lips together, it felt so perfect and meant to be, once we broke apart we both smiled "I love you so much" she said to me kissing me again "I love you too, will you be my girlfriend?" I asked "of course" she replied. I can't believe I'm dating the girl who was my lab partner.
