I'm just as surprised as anyone else in the room.

My dad because of me walking in with Shawn, Blake because of Shawn carrying two very heavy chairs at the same time, Shawn because of actually knowing my dad and me because of what happens next.

''Jess why don't you and Shawn go get us some coffee?'' my Dad asks me, still with his hand on Shawn's shoulder.

''I thought I was grounded? What happened with the 'you're gonna stay at my side for the rest of our time here'?'' I mean it seriously, but it doesn't look like he takes it that way. He just laughs at me and weave us out of the office. We go in silence the first minute before the incredibly hot boy next to me breaks it

''Why didn't you tell me Robert was your dad?'' He looks down at me. Why didn't he tell me it was you he was working for? Why am I allowed to go for coffee as soon as it involves you? What did my dad mean by 'Jess do you remember Shawn?' And how do you know each other?. I have so many questions to ask, but I settle for the last one.

''Your dad and my manager Andrew are friends and he's been there for me as my main producer or helped us out in tough situations''

''I can't believe I never heard about this before''. We're at the cafeteria now, but neither of us is moving towards the coffee machine.

''I can't believe you're so grown up''. What does he mean by that? He hasn't seen me before right? He sees my confusion and explains.

''I babysitted you once in New York. With my mom. I was like 8. Do you still have Hannah Montana posters all over? Or was that just a phase?'' I think he's kidding till the Hannah Montana thing. I did have all of those posters on my wall. If he was 8, then I was 6, and yet I don't remember!

''Oh no. Why is it the posters you remember? What about my super cool Harry Potter drawings or my stacks of books?''. I don't know why I ask him that. Maybe to know exactly how much he knows.

''I remember the wizard with a cucumber and Dobbie with a wig, but the posters were really hard to miss''.

I start walking towards the coffee machine but am stopped by Shawn taking my wrist. I look him in the eyes and I'm mesmerized once again. How can it hit me so hard every single time?!

''I know a place much better than the cafeteria. They also have ice cream''. My body says I should follow, but my stupid brain thinks I should stay. I am grounded. I tell him I probably shouldn't go, and he let me go, taking his phone from his back pocket making a call and a few seconds later telling me to come with him.

I don't even care what he did or how he did it, I'm just glad my brain lost this one time.

It's only a short walk to the place Shawn talked about. It's right at the start of a park. Shawn does the order as my phone rings and I have to step away. It's Ali again, hope she's bringing good news. ''Jess, I stole M's phone''. Not what I was expecting.

''I just took it''.

''Why did you take it? She's gonna find out eventually. I just needed to have time to talk to her first''.

''Oh, well do you have time now?''. I look over at Shawn, who is chatting with the very pretty waitress.

''Not right now Ali. Maybe in 30 min''. Shawn's back at my side handing me my coffee. It smells like cappuccino, but how did he know?

''Here'' he whisperers but Ali still hears and I can feel her freeze through the phone.

''You're not! That's him! What the hell Jess!'' And no matter how hard I'm trying to press the phone into my cheek Shawn hears anyway. He almost spits out his coffee of laughing. And I laugh too. He has a very contagious laugh.

''I see you're busy Jess, so just call me later''. And we hang up still laughing.

Instead of turning back towards the set again Shawn goes into the beautiful park to our left. Still quite embarrassed of being caught telling my friend about him, I ask something else.

''Have you seen the picture of us in the pop-up shop?''. I hope he hasn't or at least not the headline. 'Shawn Mendes harassing fan'. We sit on the next bench. It's very small and we're sitting with our shoulders touching. Unfortunately, I can see on his face that he has seen it.

''My manager is trying his best to get it off the internet, but it's nearly impossible''.

''Yeah, but at least your fans won't believe it''. I hope it comforts him.

''Thank you, Jessica''.

''Call me Jess, all of my friends do''. Shit, I called him my friend. I'm so awkward. He stands up and for a second I'm positive he's going to leave me, but then he gives me his hand.

''Well Jess, do you want some ice cream to go with the coffee?''. I take his hand nodding, and glad he ignored my awkwardness. He's not my friend and the only reason he's here with me is probably because of my father working for him...I need more confidence.
