I feel the atmosphere in the room beginning to change. I wouldn't call it romantic or awkward, but maybe a mix.

I hear the water click and use it as an excuse to turn around away from him, breaking our eye contact. I hand him one of the hotel cups. ''Careful it's hot'' I say as I sit down on the bed.

''Did Andrew go home yet?'' I ask, to avoid the sudden silence, it's really not like us.

''Yeah. Did you work on the tour today?'' he asks.

''Yes. Actually I have a few questions while you're here''. I stand up and get my computer from my bag while Shawn carefully sits down on the bed next to me. He can barely sit straight without hitting his head on the upper bunk bed.

I open my documents on the tour. ''Where's your hot coco?'' I ask him.

''Drank it. Hotels really need bigger cups'' he says while reading my work.

''I know right! It really bugs me''. Bugs me? God im awkward! He looks up, trying to hide a little smile.

''It looks perfect, what are your questions?''. Before asking my work related ones, I start with a more personal question.

''First. Now when you're not mad at me anymore-'' he quickly interrupts me.

''I was never mad at you'' I look at him and sigh. ''You know what I mean''

''Okay, go on. ''

''Are you doing anything Friday?'' I notice I'm shaking my foot unintentionally. A nervous reflect I haven't had since the exams last summer.

It takes him a while to answer. ''Tomorrow? Yes''

I stop my foot and move uncomfortable on the bed. ''Oh, okay never mind then'' Of course he has plans, he's him.

''I have 2 things planned tomorrow night''. Okay, he doesn't have to step on it.

''Wow, take it easy Shawn''. I think that was the first time I called him by his name. Before I can get another fangirl attack, he continues.

He leans back, so his head is leaning against the wall. ''First I'm going to this carnival downtown, with this girl who keeps bumping into me-'' I close my fist ready to give him a beating, but he grabs it before it hits his shoulder.

''And then I'm throwing a party for that same girl''.

''Me? Why?'' I ask surprised and then sad when he lets my hand go.

''You're the only girl who's been bumping into me lately, so yes you and because it's your birthday and your dad said you like to go to parties with your friends''. I sit and stare letting it all sink in. We're friends? Did he just call us friends?

Shawn must have taken my quietness as a bad thing. ''I should have asked you first. I'm sorry, I understand why-''. Now it's my turn to interrupt him.

''No, I'm just too happy to speak right now''.

''I think you're the only person who wouldn't ask me if Ed Sheeran's attending or Justin Timberlake''

I'm not even over the fact that HE'S throwing ME a party. ''Why would I ask you that?''

''I'm glad you aren't'' he says while smiling.

''Good. Cause I don't care who's there. Don't get me wrong, it would be amazing, but I've seen your calendar and I don't think Ed Sheeran has it any easier and especially not to celebrate me''

We laugh for a little while, me not being able to hide my happiness.

''I'm sure he would love to meet you'' Shawn says to me with a very serious smile.

How could this day go from crappy to perfect in no time?

I know.

The reason is sitting an inch away from me.

''What was your second question?'' Shawn asks me. It's takes a minute to search my brain for my original work related question.

''Just how much time I have till Andrew gets back''. He takes a deep breath

''That's what I wanted to talk to you about...'' He doesn't get to finish the sentence before the door opens and my family comes in.
