''You can't just give me an ultimatum,'' I crossed my arms across my chest, action which yanked a smirk from Peter's lips. ''and wipe that god damned smirk from your face, Kavinsky. I can perfectly be alone.'' I dragged my speech, so maybe my words could stick in his mind. However, It was part of the whole masquerade. I wanted to stay over so bad, it physically burned my throat trying so hard to disguise such will.
''Rita! I am not saying you are!'' He reasoned. ''I'm the one who can't leave you alone, alright? Don't make me repeat this a third time.'' He whined like a toddler.
''Shit Peter, I don't know...What would your mom say? I don't even have anything here like a toothbrush, for a chance?''
''As if those are problems...'' He rolled his eyes. ''My mom will be ecstatic if you stay, you can wear my clothes and....I might still have the toothbrush you used whenever you slept over, last year.'' He smiled and maybe blushed. I couldn't see well, of a sudden I was visually impaired from one eye. ''Wait- Are you crying?''
''No. I have an eyelash inside my eye.'' I chuckled struggling, tears building vastly along the water line of my left eye.
''Let me see.'' Peter asked, his hands cupped my face and his thumb gently pulled my water line down. Then I felt him gently blow into my eyeball and I flinched. ''It's gone.'' He smiled.
''Thank you.''
Peter's POV on
She flustered her lashes, then she looked to the side and smiled shyly.
"You're so pretty." I knew I shouldn't say it, but the words exited my mouth automatically. I couldn't stop either. '' You look so angelic and pure but then you get mad... when you get mad you're really mean you know?'' She squinted her eyes. I didn't know if she was confused or daring me to keep going. ''Like your personality of a sudden doesn't match you face anymore.''
''I'm so not!'' She knocked her tongue. ''I mean not usually! It's not my fault you drive me out of myself!'' Her fist caressed my bicep however she intended for it to hurt.
''I guess, but so do you.'' I said. From the corner of my eyes I saw her cross her arms across her chest. I smiled at my hands, shoved inside my T-shirt drawer.
''Like when?'' I heard behind me. Even though I couldn't see her, I heard the smugness in her voice and I could picture her expression perfectly.
''Like when you date complete fuck ups and they break your heart.'' Jesus Peter, how long has that been bottled up? ''Here.'' I said, handing her my Gryffindor shirt.
''That does not exclude you.'' Rita smartly said. I walked right into that one. ''And hm.. Peter?'' She frowned. ''You know I'm a Slytherin, I can't betray my house like this.'' She tossed me the shirt back. When it hit my face she laughed and my insides twisted into a pleasant knot only she could provoke on me.
''My sincerest apologies your highness.'' I bowed and she laughed again. I loved how she laughed so much at whatever I said even when it wasn't funny but was borderline lame. Like everything else, our dorkiness was extremely compatible.
''Turn!'' She demanded as she caught the simply back shirt I threw her way, like a pro. ''Turn around.'' Of course. It was already late - The reality slap of the day. Life would never cease to remind me that she wasn't mine anymore, as I deserved. I would never get used to the ache it left on my chest every time.
''Yeah, sorry!'' I turned around so she could put on my shirt at last. Just thinking I could be helping her undress urged smouldering fires of self hatred all across my body. Yet, she saved me, before I could submerge myself into them.
