It's half past twelve in the afternoon when I hear the doorbell chimes echoing throughout the entire house.
''Can anyone open that?'' My mom asks from the kitchen but I'm already halfway on my way to the door, way ahead of her.
''You look lovely.'' Isaac taunts immediately as he sees me. I know I don't look my best with my, my little pony pajamas that definitely don't fit anymore, but it's just plainly rude pointing it out.
''Thank you!'' I give him a wide faux smile. ''You told your mom about the china plate Gabe broke yesterday or want me to?'' Isaac's face floods with panic as he desperately tries to sush me down while murmuring wondering if I'm insane. ''Let go.'' I giggle as I yank his hand away from my mouth.
''Look at you!'' I hear Belle, Isaac's mother, before I see her and I feel Amor, Isaac's sister, wrap herself around my legs before I can move an inch to greet them. ''You look nothing like an albino!'' She chuckles and I get the impression that idea was Isaac's deed, I shot him a deadly glare.
''I almost had a heart attack when I found out she'd done it.'' My mom says as she appears into the foyer, cleaning her hands on the apron she wears around her waist. ''She's got a spirit of her own, what can I do?'' I chuckle agreeing with my mother.
''She looks good Emma, lay of the kid's back.'' Roderic says wittily as he greets both of us with a warm hug. ''Let's pray this one doesn't do it tough.'' He says then, caressing my mother's growing belly.
''You look pretty.'' Amor giggles already in my arms as buries her small hands into my curls. ''I like it best.''
''At least you think so.'' I say and playfully pinch her nose before she wanders off, holding hands with my mother as she proceeds to host a rather detailed house tour.
''I thought LJ was coming with you?'' I ask Isaac, who is already spread across the couch eyeing attentively the soccer game Thomas and I were previously watching. ''Had my mom cook her favorite dish and all.'' I pout.
''Her dad was called in for an emergency at the clinic and she has to watch Kitty.'' He informs with his own version of disappointment across his face. - A slight down pulling on the corners of his mouth.
''Oh okay.'' I nod and sit beside him. ''Maybe we can go by her house and bring her some food after lunch?''
''You really miss her ugh?''
''Well yeah.'' I shrug. ''I missed you all, I had no one back in London.'' Just reminiscing on it brought tears to my brown eyes.
''Well, you got us now, all of us and you're not leaving anymore!'' He smiles and slides his arm over my shoulders, pushing me into a side hug that is as comforting as a normal one.
''Not all of you.'' I say in a sight but I don't know why. The words sort of just escape my mouth on their own, like my mind wants to force me to aknowledge the painful reality.
