This chapter is written in no one's point of view

After every storm comes the sort of sunshine that goes all the way to the soul, the sort that makes one glow a little brighter within and shine the most honest of smiles. Yet, not every one. Monday's storm wasn't quite like that.

Rita woke up startled. Rain hit against the dorm's window like it's prime intent was to shatter it down. Paired with the strident thunder, the sounds of the storm were deafening and borderline horrifying. Had never Los Angeles been under such an awful weather.

''Jesus Christ!'' The girl frowned upon glancing out the squared glass. In the street there was no tar in sight. It had been replaced by a brown and muddy stream flowing towards god knew where. No one dared to walk it and Rita wasn't about to be the first. Well, the first with her sanity intact. Lara Jean and Eva were no where to be found, which meant they had adventured into Thor's wrath, like the lunatics they were. ''Imagine if you were still lost out there.'' She turned to Athena, pulling her finest toddler voice. ''Come here baby!'' Athena seemed to have been waiting for that line her whole life. As soon as Rita opened her arms, the black cat jumped to her chest, purring loudly. However before both could curl back into the bed and cuddle until Rita had to leave to the rehearsals, there was a knock on the door.

''Who's there?'' She said at fear, her heart beginning to race as she leaned towards the entrance. If on the other side of it were to be a dorm inspector she was in real trouble. There was no way in hell she would be able to hide Athena. Plus, the hole Peter had punched into her wall was still there, only covered by a California state flag.

''Your boyfriend.'' Peter chuckled like a toddler from the other side. Not only did a wave of relief wash over the girl but she also felt like she was suddenly walking over pure, bright sunshine. He had that effect on her. She always felt like she was floating.

''Hey you!'' Rita beamed as the door creaked open. She didn't have time to take his presence in, for he instantly pulled her into a tight hug, Athena struggling to leave their middle.

''I missed you.'' Peter said, breathing deeply her sweet scent.

''We saw each other like twelve hours ago!''  She giggled as his nose tickled her ear.

''I know, but it was the first time in two days we didn't sleep together. I'm hungover on you. Jesus I love you so much.'' Peter looked at her with sincere eyes. Words like those were difficult to put out and he didn't direct them to a lot of people, very few were worth it. With Rita it was different. Never had be been so truthful. Whenever he looked into her brown eyes he'd be reminded that she deserved to hear it more than anyone else, that she needed to know, and the words would come out effortlessly and on their own.

''Wanna come in and cuddle?'' She smiled hopeful.

''Don't do this to me!'' He whined. ''I have practise like ten minutes ago.''

''Is this weather?'' The girl frowned as she pointed to the window. The storm worsening by the second.

''Coach says it thickens our skin.'' He shrugged.

''Okay so he's insane.'' Rita nodded. Peter didn't disagree. ''Maybe come by after, then?'' The boy looked down like the floor was suddenly much more interesting than Rita's loving expression. His lips turned white, pressed against each others, before he pulled away. ''What?'' She asked softly, her voice shaking nonetheless.
