It's a Werewolf, you tell yourself. Even though those creatures are said to be mythological, it still scared the crap out of you. Slowly, it inched closer. To tops things off, it was coming in your direction. Great, you think. Just how I've always wanted to end my life, being eaten alive.
Beside you, you can faintly hear Nath's voice. " No!" He screams right when the Were leaped towards you. Nathan put himself in front of you to protect you. The Werewolf hits him, hard. He falls to the ground. The beast claws at him and scratches his chest.
Then, the thing turned away and ran from the garden. Raindrops started falling, the flowers started wilting. The sky turned gray. You rush to Nathan's side.
"No, Nath. Stay with me!" You scream as he starts to close his eyes. You take off his jacket and lay it on top of his chest and press down to try to slow the bleeding.
"I have to go. It's my time." He says. What's that supposed to mean? You wonder. Then it hits you. He's dying already.
"Please, no." You say, crying. "Don't go!"
"Kiss me." He says.
You kiss him, wondering what that has to do with anything.
"I love you." He says, his voice getting weaker.
"I-I love you, too." You studder without thinking. Then everything goes black.
You shoot up in bed. A dream. It was just a dream. That's all it was.
You try to slow your heartbeat down. You check your phone: 1:45 AM. You lay back down, thinking about your dream. Now afraid to go back to sleep, you get up and go downstairs to the fridge. You grab a snack and some water and go to you living room.
You sit down on the couch and turn on the tv. There is nothing good on but SpongeBob. You felt a little silly watching SpongeBob at two in the morning and being the age you are. but you didn't care. Anything to get that dream off your mind.
Sometime through the night, or morning, you fell asleep. When you woke up you went to the kitchen to get some breakfast. You made you a bowl of cereal and went upstairs to take a shower.
No matter how hard you tried, you couldn't get your dream out of your head. Nathan on the ground, wounded from a mythological beast, telling you to kiss him before he dies. Strange, you think.
After you get dressed you go into the bathroom to brush your hair. You look into the mirror. How could Nath like me? You think. You've never really considered yourself to be pretty enough for someone like Nathan. But he wants you, you say to yourself.
You brush your hair and put on the little make-up you always put on: mascara, eye-liner, lip gloss and some light pink eye-shadow. Today, you have on one of your many TW shirts.
Not feeling like being in the house, you make your bed and grab your car keys. You decide to go over to Alex's and see if she wants to hang out with you. Most likely she will since you are her best friend.
When you get to her house, you walk up the steps to her front porch and ring her doorbell. Her house is not big but not small and only three blocks away from yours. Both of your parents are hardly ever home so you both always get the house to yourselves,
"Hi!" You say, smiling, as she opens the door.
"Hi" She says, smiling in return. You ask her if she wants to go to the park and take a walk with you.
"Uh...no. I can't."
"Why?" You ask.
"Because I already told Penny I'd go over to her house today." She says, not making eye contact. She's going to Penny's? She knows I can't stand Penny. Ever since Kindergarten, Penny thinks everything is a competition between them. She takes all of your crushes and brags about how 'popular' she is.
"Oh." You say, trying not to show how much it bothered you. "Have fun." You say, turning away towards your car.
While driving home, you pass Penny's house. She is sitting on her porch steps, probably waiting for Alex. When she sees you she gives you a mean look. Suddenly you get a text message saying "Lay off Alex or you'll regret it. She was my best friend first, not yours." You shudder. You knew it was from Penny.
It's true, Penny was Alex's best friend first. But that was before Penny turned into a jerk and started treating Alex rudely. That's when you stepped in. Ever since you two have been inseperable. But lately Penny has been being nice to Alex. She wants something, you know that for sure. But you aren't sure what.
When you get home, you pull up that message. You knew what Penny was capable of. You wonder how far she would go this time if you didn't listen to her.
