The boys had to leave that night. Nathan stopped by before they left.
"Goodbye. I'll miss you, Y/N." Nathan says.
"I'll miss you, too, Nath." You say, eyes filling with tears.
Nathan wiped it away for you. "I'll be back soon, remember? If not, I'll send you where I am." He takes your hands and looks into your eyes.
"You should be going." You whisper.
He kisses you softly then leaves. You wave out the window as he drives down the driveway. He waves back and smiles.
Then you get a text. "Don't cry while I'm gone. I'm still with you." It was from Nathan.
"I know. Have fun. Don't forget me" You say.
"Never." He replies. You sit on your couch and sigh. About ten minutes later, still sitting there staring at the place Nathan just stood fifteen minutes before, there was a knock at your door.
"Hi!" Alex says excitedly.
"Hey! The lads had to go, but Jay wanted me to say "Hi" to you for him. So, hi!" You say and laugh. Alex does, too.
"Do you think he likes me?" She says.
"Yeah." You answer.
"Let's go take a walk." Alex suggests.
"Okay." You say, stepping outside. You guys just walk around and talk about the night before.
"He's so sweet and funny." Alex says. She has a dreamy look in her eyes.
One time you thought you heard someone following you, but no one was there. Weird, you think.
That night when Alex went home and you were watching tv, you started thinking about Nath. You miss him so much already. You love how he was protecting you after Penny's threat. How he takes you places. How he smiles and looks at you with those beautiful eyes.
You were watching your favorite show again. It was some re-runs, but you didn't care. Anything to get you from thinking about Nathan before you cry. When you fell asleep, you felt very lonely. Your mother won't come back home for three more days.
At two in the morning, you woke up with a start. You had slept on the couch because you were too tired to go into your bedroom. You look around wondering what woke you up. Nothing was wrong.
There was a knock at the door. Just one. You were trying to figure out if you thought that or if someone was actually at the door. No more noises. It was probably just my imagination, you think.
You lay down again. When you open your eyes once more, you look at the door. It was open. Your blood froze. What the heck? Is this a dream? You wonder.
You get up slowly and creep towards the door. You close it and make sure you lock it. Then you heard footsteps behind you. They were walking quietly in your direction. You turned around. Sure enough, someone was there.
"I told you to stay away from Alex." The figure says coldly. It was Penny. She pushes you up against you door, causing you to hit your head really hard, and chokes you.
You try to tell her to stop, but you couldn't make out the noise. You couldn't even breathe. Just when you thought you couldn't go without breath any longer, everything went black.
Penny took out her cell phone and called 9-1-1. She told them that a couple hours before you had called her saying that you were depressed and was going to commit suicide. She got worried when you never called back when she called you, or answer your texts so she came over to find you unconscious on the floor. She claimed that you hid a house key around back and that's what she used to get in your house. That was partially true.
Ambulance, firetrucks, and police cars came in less than two minutes. The ambulance took you to the hospital and rushed you to the E.R. No matter how much they tried, they couldn't wake you. You were put in a room and had a nurse watch you the first couple of hours.
The hospital tried to get a hold of your mum but she wouldn't answer. They tried other family members, but they were all lived too far away. When a family member suggested they try her best friend, they looked for her number in the phone book. They called her. Alex answered and came over as fast as she could.
"What happened?" She asked, wide-eyed. The doctors told her what Penny had said. She was shocked. They told her that if she was going to stay, she had to wait in the waiting room. Which is what she did. She waited for three hours.
Suddenly, a thought stuck her. She called Jay, since he had given her his number that night they went to the movies.
"Hello?" He answered.
"Jay!" She said, worried.
"Alex? What's wrong?" Now he too was worried.
"Y/N is in the hospital!"
"What? Why?"
"It's a long story. I was the only person they could get a hold of!"
"I'm so sorry! We don't have to perform until tomorrow. Our manager just wanted us to settle in the hotel. But we're coming there."
"But-"
"We're coming." He said. "We aren't gonna let you stay there alone. Plus, we care about Y/N. I'll tell the lads and just stay where you are." He hung up.
Alex paced the waiting room. About an hour later the boys showed up. Nathan first. He ran to you.
"Where is she? Can I see her?" He said quickly. He looked so sad.
"You can't see her yet. Nobody can." Alex said sadly. Each guy gave her a big hug. Jay sat her down and held her hand. Nathan sat beside Jay. Siva next, then Tom, then Max.
Nathan put his face in his hands. "Oh, God, why did I leave her alone? I should've known!" He said. He wasn't crying yet, but he was close.
"Should've known what?" Max said cautiously.
"That Penny would hurt her as soon as I left!" Nathan said, looking up. His eyes were red.
"Penny didn't hurt her. She saved her." Alex said. "Penny would never hurt her.
"She threatened her! She told Y/N to stay away from you. When you kept hanging out with her, Penny must've found out and hurt her." Nathan's hands clenched.
Alex sat there in shock. The others were silent.
"Doctor!" Nathan shot up. Your doctor had entered the waiting room.
