"How is she? Can I see her?" Nathan asked.
"She's still out. Not doing so well, but good for her condition." He said. "One at a time, you may see her. Talk to her, it's said that people in a coma can hear what you say. But make it fast." He said.
Siva went first. He told you about all the fun times you've had together. Even though you couldn't respond, you did hear him.
Tom went second. He too recalled the memories the two of you have had. He said how much Nathan is worried about you. How he thinks it's all his fault you are in the hospital. Desperately you want to wake up, to hold Nathan tight and whisper, "I'm right here."
Max went third. Then Jay. Alex was next. She said how sorry she was for thinking you were lieing about Nathan, how sorry she was for not believing you about Penny. She said how worried she is about you.
Then it was Nathan's turn. He went in and sat beside you. He took your hand and kissed your forehead lightly. "I'm so sorry, Y/N. I shouldn't have left you alone. Shouldn't have let my guard down. I should've known Penny would try something. I'm so sorry." He says. A tear falls down his cheek. "That dream could've been a sign that you would get hurt soon, I didn't listen. Now you're here because of me. It was so hard for me to leave you. I was going to miss you so much. I was going to miss your laugh, your smile, your voice. Being around you and having you in my arms. I really wanted to stay. Honestly. I was telling you to not cry, but I was the one ready to. You're my world now, Y/N. Ever since I saw you, I've really liked you. When signing your autograph, when taking a picture with you, when hugging you that one day at the concert, I knew I wanted you to be mine. I made the right choice giving you my number. There's no doubt in my mind I didn't. Please, please, wake up. I need you. I really do." More tears. "I don't know how I'll perform without you tomorrow. You'll be all that is on my mind. You always are, but not like this." He fell silent. "I love you, Y/N." He gets up, dries his tears, and kisses you again on your forehead.
Back in the waiting room, the others stand up and hug him. Saying how sorry they are to him and Alex. He just sat down and looked at the floor. he pulled out his phone and brought up the picture of you guys at the park. He stared at that for a long time. Hoping he would see that smile again someday.
The boys had to go back to the hotel. Nathan walked out of the hospital slowly. He didn't talk to anybody, he didn't do much. When he got to his room, he went straight to his room. He just sat on his bed, remembering memories of you and him. Your words that you texted him, "Don't forget me.", stayed in his mind. He didn't cry.
It was a long day preparing for the concert. When he got back to his room, he looked in his closet. You had accidentally forgotten one of your shirts there and he had kept it. He got it out and sat on his bed. Eventually he went to sleep, your shirt in his hand, and head full of memories.
"It's almost time." Tom said to Nathan backstage. It was two minutes until they go on stage and perform. "You okay, lad?"
"Yeah. Yeah. I'm good." Nathan said even though he wasn't. He had hardly slept the night before and he had been busy with the concert earlier. But not too busy to think about you.
"Okay. When we're done, we'll go see your girlfriend. I promise." Tom says.
"Okay." Nathan manages a smile.
They go on stage, all five of them, looking like everything was alright. Putting on smiles. They were real, not fake. They love their fans and performing for them. But they were still sad.
They sang I Found You, All Time Low, Chasing The Sun, Glad You Came, Lightning, and Satellite. The last one they sang was Personal Soldier. It was Nathan's idea. He knew how much you loved that song.
When the concert was over and after they signed autographs for fans, they went to the hospital as Tom had promised. At the hospital they found Alex in your room. She was by your side, sleeping. Jay gently woke her up and she gave him a big hug.
Nathan sat on your other side and took your hand. Softly he sang your favorite part in Personal Soldier to you, "I'll be your hero who's standing strong, who protects you from any fight. And if your battles are piling on, I will take them on with all my might. Cry your tears on my soldier. You don't know what the future holds, so I'll be your personal soldier."
You tried so hard to react. It took all you had, but you moved tightened your fingers on Nathan's hand. You could only for a second, but it was enough.
"Her hand moved!" He said. "I swear it did." He was close to tears.
"She heard you." Alex whispered.
"She's trying." Max said. And you were.
