After the movie ends, the guys offer to buy the girls some ice cream at the ice cream shop down the street. The other girls screamed and got into the car. You just rolled your eyes, laughing. Still holding Nath's hand (which you haven't let go since the beginning of the movie), you walk back to his car.

He gets in on the passenger side.

"What're you doing?" You ask, confused.

"Your turn to drive." He grins. You laugh and get into the driver's seat and put the keys in the ignition. Following the others to the ice cream shop you and Nathan talk about the others.

"The boys seem to like your friends." He says.

"They like them." You say. The two of you laugh. Of course they do, they're obsessed with them.   You pull into the parking lot and you guys go inside. The others came in behind you. When everyone ordered and went to separate table to get to know  each other, you and Nath found a booth.

"When are you going out of town?" You say, remembering the planning for the next concerts.

He hesitates. "In two days." He says. "But let's talk about now."

    You smile. "Okay."

"When's your birthday?" He asks suddenly.

     "My birthday?" You asked.

    "Yeah"

     "July 18th." You tell him.

"In four weeks?" He asked. You nod. He looks deep in thought.

  "What is it?" You ask.

"Nothing." He looks into your eyes and smiles. You smile back. For the rest of the time at the ice cream place ,you two just look into each other's eyes. Reading them. Trying to see what the other is seeing.

That night, Nathan takes you home.

"Are you sure you'll be okay?" He asks, reluctant to leave you. He is still worried about what Penny said.

"Yeah." You say, though you aren't really sure.

"Okay. I'll be here in the morning."

"Okay."  He leans in for a kiss. Please, let no phones ring this time, you think. None did. His lips touch yours gently. He kisses you long enough to make your heart flutter so much it feels like it'll fly out of your chest.

When you finally pull away, you smile at each other.

   "Goodnight, Y/N."

   "Goodnight, Nathan." You say.

When he leaves and you're in bed, you stare up at the ceiling. You still felt his kiss like it was still happening. You held onto that for as long as you could before you went to sleep.

Just like he said, Nathan was knocking on your door about an hour after you woke up. It was about nine o'clock.

When you opened the door he kissed your lips softly.

"Well, hello to you, too." You say laughing. He smiles.

Something looked wrong with him, but you couldn't figure out what. Then it hit you: he looked as if he'd been crying,

"What's wrong?" You ask, worried. "What thappened?"

He didn't answer. You motioned for him to come in, and he did.

   "Tell me. Please." You say.

He takes a deep breath and sits on the couch. "I had a bad dream last night."

"Go on." You say. You take his hand. It seemed to calm him.

"We were at some lake. We were playing around in the water. We got out and sat under a tree, holding hands, and talking. Talking about the future. Our future." He pauses and looks up into your eyes. "Then some girl with auburn hair and a little bit of freckles came."

   "Penny." You whisper.

He continued. "She smiled and seemed nice at first. Then, she pulled out a knife. I stood up, putting you behind me. Protecting you. Some force sent me to the side. She came closer to you, and you wouldn't move. I couldn't get up. I was helpless. I couldn't look away, so I was forced to watch her cut your wrist. She laughed as you fell to the ground. Then she pushed you into the tree. You hit your head and fell unconscious. Then, she disappeared. I ran over to you and felt your pulse. It was so slow, and slowing even more." He swallowed and his eyes teared up. "You were dying. I took your hand and kissed you. You stopped breathing and I took you into my arms. It started to rain and I stood up. I just stood in the rain, looking down at you, crying." He said. Some tears fell from his eyes. It must've been hard for him to cry in front of you. He was trying to be so strong, you realize.

You came closer to him. "I'm right here. I'm fine, Nathan." You say, trying to comfort him.

"I know." He said. He kissed you. "I know."

You guys went to the park about an hour later. You sat down on a swing and he pushed you. You laughed. He just smiled.

Then, when you got off, he started tickling you. You ran away from him but he was too fast. He grabbed your waist and pulled you close. He tickled you some more, the whole time laughing and smiling. You love his smile.

"Okay, okay." You say. "Enough." You laugh.

"Fine." He says. He turned around to go to the little hill by the swings. You jumped onto his back. He laughed. He took you and set you down on the hill. He took out his phone and took a picture of the two of you. It was a really good picture. It was your favorite.

He texted someone then took your hand.

   "What'd you do?" You ask.

"Uploaded that photo to Twitter." He grinned. You blush.

     "I'll miss you." You say.

    "What?" He asks, confused.

"I'll miss you when you leave."

"I'll miss you, too, Y/N." He says. "But I'll see you again. Soon."

      "You will?"

     "Yes. I promise."
