Your phone went off. You woke up, startled. You look at the clock: 1:00 AM. Really?. You think. You pick up your phone and squint to see. It burned your eyes, but you made out what it said, '1 New Message'. You open the message and smile. It was Nathan.

"Hey. I couldn't sleep. Too busy thinking about you (:" It said.

      "Awe (:" You text back.

You wait for  a reply. One never comes. Instead you get a call.

         "Hello?" You answer.

          "Hey!" He says.

"You're really calling me at one in the morning just to say 'Hi'?" You ask, laughing.

"Yup." He says and laughs, too. "And I wanted to tell you that I talked to my manager last night."

"What did you talk to him about?" You ask.

          "About the next concert."

            "Where is it?"

"Your town." He says. You smile. "I don't want to leave you just yet. You smile yourself.

"What did the boys say about that?" You ask.

"They think it's a good idea, since there are a lot of fans in your town." He says.

             "True" You say.

"And...." He says, pausing for suspense. "You get in free, with a backstage pass."

             "Really?" You ask excitedly.

"Yeah." He says. He laughs. "Plus I thought we could go on another date afterwards."

"Yeah!" You say. Then you correct yourself, not wanting to sound like you have been wanting to go out with him again already. "I mean, sure."

             He just laughs.

"You should get some sleep." He says.

"Okay." You says, a little sad.

            "Bye, beautiful." He says.

"Bye." You say. Then he hung up. He sounded tired himself. Now you can sleep better knowing you'll see him again soon, you think. And you were right. You went to sleep quickly, once again thinking about Nathan.

That morning when you took a shower and made breakfast, you called your mom. You  figured she'd want to hear from you. She was on a business trip in another state but you forgot what one. When you tell her that everything's okay, there was a knock on the door. You told her that you had to go and ran to the door.

        It was Alex.

      "Hey?" You say unsurely.

"What's wrong with you?" She asks.

      "Nothing..?" You say, confused,

"First you lie about dating Nathan and now you threaten Penny? I didn't think you would stoop that low." She says.

"First of all, I didn't lie. He IS dating me. And I never threatened Penny. She threatened me. I still have the text." You say, putting your hands on you hips.

"More lies, Y/N? Wow." She says rolling her eyes.

    "I'm not lying!" You say.

"Whatever. You're just jealous of Penny, like you always have been!" She shouted and walked away.

What? You think. I've NEVER been jealous of Penny. You go back into your house and sit on the couch. Alex is starting to act a lot like Penny, you realize. What all has Penny told her about you? What lies has she made up?

Still confused, you turn on the tv. I need to get away, you think. Away from Penny, away from Alex. I only need Nath right now. He's the only one who really understands me, you think.
