Last To Know

Part 17

     When you woke up, Nathan was waiting patiently at your left side for you to wake up.

     "Hey, beautiful." He said. It was morning, you realized. You must've gotten at least six hours of sleep. You didn't feel so tired as you did when you woke up from that coma.

    "Liar. I probably look like a mess." You laugh. He rolls his eyes.

    "I gotta run to the store for something real quick. I'll be back in less than half an hour."

    "Why?" You ask.

    "No reason." He winks. He kisses you then leaves. You laugh. You press the nurse button and ask for a clean gown so you can change out of the one you have on after you take a shower. She comes and gives it you and you go into the bathroom.

     You took a ten minute long shower and changed. You sit on your bed and turn on the tv.  There was a knock on your door. It was the lads of The Wanted, all but Nathan of course.

    They all give you a big hug. Siva and Jay got you some balloons, Tom got you a stuffed parrot, and Max got you a stuffed shark. You laughed and thanked them. They all sat around the room and joked around with you. Alex came and after saying hi and giving you a million hugs, she sat by Jay.

     "Where's Nathan?" Siva asked.

     "I don't know. He said he had to run to the store and get something, but he never told me what." You said. The others looked at each other. "You guys know why, don't you?"

      "Well.......not exactly. But we're pretty sure." Tom said. Everyone agreed.

      Just then Nathan came back, grinning. He went over to you and kissed your lips. That was the first time you've kissed in front of anyone.

      "Awwwwwwwww." Siva, Tom, Max, Jay, and Alex said in unison. You blushed. Nathan just laughed.

      You noticed that when he sat down he was hiding something behind his back.

    "What's behind your back?" You ask.

    "You gonna give her it or what?" Jay asked Nathan.

     "Which-" Nathan stopped himself and looked at you. When he saw that you didn't catch on, he said, "Yeah." He laughed. He brought out a square box and opened it. Inside was a beautiful silver necklace with a locket the shape of a heart.

      Nath stood up and put it around your neck. "Open it." He said. You opened the heart and it showed the picture of him and you in the park and another one of you guys holding hands outside of the movies. Somebody must've taken a photo of you and Nath when you went to the movies with the boys and your friends. You smiled.

      "Thank you." You look up at him. He smiles and kisses you again. Some more "Awww's" from everyone.

       The nurse came in when Nath sat down. "You are allowed to go home now, Y/N." She says and smiles nicely. Everyone cheered. She laughed. "Have one of your friends get some clean clothes for you." She walks out of the room.

       "I'll go since I know where everything is." Alex offered.

     "I'll go, too." Jay said. They walk out together, Jay's arm around Alex. How cute? You think.

      "They're cute together." You tell the others.

      "Yeah." They agreed.

       "Have they kissed yet?" You ask.

        "We're not sure. But last time we checked, Jay wanted to." Tom says and laughs. You laugh, too.

       "Now will you tell me why you went to the store?" You ask Nathan. You smile sweetly.

      "Nope." He says and laughs.

      "Fine." You say. "Will any of you?" You turn to Max, Siva, and Tom. They shake their heads and laugh.

       You stick your tongue out at them like a little kid and laugh.

     Twenty minutes later, Jay and Alex come back with some clothes and your brush. You get off of your bed and try to keep your gown wrapped around you to hide the gap in the back. You came out of the bathroom and thanked Jay and Alex. They got you one of your TW shirts (which made you laugh), and your favorite jeans. They grabbed your converse ,too.

     You sit down on the bed and reach for your brush. You pull back your arm, shocked by pain in your right arm.

      "The doctor gave you a shot of painkillers. He figured you would have a headache when you woke up last night." Nathan said. "I forgot to tell you." You laughed.

     How could you have just noticed the soreness? Then you realized the you didn't really move that arm much and when you did, you had many other things on your mind.

       Nathan took the brush and sat on the other side of the bed facing your back. He brushed your hair for you while everyone laughed.

      "Not bad for a celebrity." You joke and smile at him.

     "Yeah, well, what can I say? I'm an awesome boyfriend." He grinned. You just laughed.

     Standing up, Nathan walked over to the whiteboard and took down the picture from the corner. He put it in his wallet and looked at you and winked. Walking out of the hospital, the others went ahead to the cars they came in. Nath took your hand and led you to the water fountain on the left side of the lobby.

     "Y/N?" Nathan said.

     "Yeah?"

    "We're going on tour in a couple of days. I really want you to come. Partly because of Penny, but mostly because I don't want to leave you." He says, staring into the fountain.

    "I'll go." You say. "I want to be with you, Nath." You say.

   He looks at you and smiles. He pulls a loose strand of hair out of face and behind your ear. He kisses you, not caring who sees. He holds your hand to the car and drives to your house.

    "Hold on a second." He says getting out of the car. "Stay here.

You do, wondering why he wants you to. He unlocks your house (he must've gotten the spare key) and went inside. A minute later he came back outside and opened your door.

   "Close your eyes." He says. You do and he helps you out of the car. When you're on the sidewalk he picks you up. You put you arms around his neck and hid your face in his chest so he knows you aren't peeking.

      He takes you inside the house carefully. He takes you up the stairs to your room and stops outside of your door. Opening the door he whispers in your ear "Open." And when you do, he opens the door. Inside your room is the boxer puppy you really liked at the pet shop in the mall.

      She comes to you and you pick her up. She remembered you and licked you. "Thank you, Nath!" You say excitedly. He laughed and pet the puppy.

      "You're welcome." He said and smiled. "What're you going to name her?" He asked.

       You thought about it for a minute. "Maggie." You say.

        He smiled and brought out a collar from his pocket. It was a light blue. He put it around Maggie's neck and kissed her on the head.

      "I see how you are." You joke. He kissed you, too.

      "Happy?" He laughs.

     "Yes." You say laughing, too.

     "Good." He says and goes behind you. He puts his hands on your waist and the two of you stood there, looking at the new dog you guys would share. There was no doubt in your mind that you were the luckiest girl in the world. You had a caring, loving, protective boyfriend. You had Nathan.
