I know I can be what I want to be
If I work hard at it I'll be where I want to be
No man can stop me on my pathway to success
No creed or color can sway me to do something that'll play me
No systemic injustice will be strong enough to tear down my strength in myself
I know I can be what I want to be
If I work hard at it I'll be where I want to be
Once I make it there, I will empower others to also fight the homegrown tyranny
We will overcome, We have to instill each other with good positive energy
Beneath us is stooping to their level and causing more pain and trouble to future generations after me
I know we can be what we want to be
If we work hard at it we'll be where we want to be
..... but it won't be easy
