ISAK POV
________

i walked into the brand new cafe that had just opened downtown. i had already heard great things about it in the area and it had only been open for a week; that had to mean it was good, right?

my eyes scanned the small shop. it smelled nice- that familiar brand new scent that was indescribable faintly in the background of the smell of strong coffee pooling into my lungs. i inhaled, letting out a long, satisfied sigh at the amazing smell. everything here fit perfectly, the rustic brick walls, the slightly beaten up wood flooring but it was still nice, the tall windows that bright sunlight shone through, everything complemented each other. i already loved the whole atmosphere.

after a moment of taking everything in, i walked up to the front counter where there seemed to be no worker yet. as i waited, i decided to pull out the money that was stuff in my wallet.

while digging through my jean pockets for my cash, i heard an insanely deep, entrancing and just beautiful in general voice speak up.

"halla, are you ready to order?"

i glanced up, my eyes widening in the slightest when my eyes met him. his voice was not only beautiful, but so was his face, and geez- those eyes! they were piercing into my own and looked as blue as the ocean. i couldn't stop staring at him looking a bit stumped, it's not like i was gay but he was one attractive man.

"y-yeah, sorry." i stuttered and shoved my hand down my pocket again, wondering why i couldn't find my cash. then it hit me- it was in my other pocket.

i probably just made a huge fool of myself.

i felt so dumb and a bit embarrassed when i pulled out my cash from my other pocket. my hands were a bit fidgety and somehow, me being the idiot i am, i drooped all my cash on the floor and cursed under my breath.

the man behind the counter raised his eyebrows at me and walked around the corner to come help. he crouched down, picking up some of the bills and handing them back to me.

i was scared to look him in the eye again. i don't know why, something about him made me feel unsettled... but somehow, in a good way?

"thanks..." i said quietly, my cheeks turning tomato red. i finally built up the courage to look up at him, he had a small, adorably amused smile plastered on his face and i couldn't help but dart my sight elsewhere again. i didn't like how it made me feel, it made me feel a bit... nervous, giddy, flushed, if you will.

"don't mention it." he said, that voice... he stood up and made his way back around the counter.

i was so embarrassed at this point, it took everything i had to not run out of that cafe. i ordered my drink and once i was done saying my order, i felt a bit relieved that i didn't stutter or mess up my words.

"good choice." he said and smiled again, causing my heart to flutter. "will that be all?"

i nodded, too lost in his eyes to even speak. geez, i could look into them forever. they were gorgeous, to say the least- i probably was coming off so creepy and idiotic right now. he was tall with blonde locks of hair on his head, a couple loose strands hung down over his forehead out from his hat and his lips- they were so plump and perfectly sculpted. his whole entire face, his jawline, cheekbones, light skin with a golden undertone to it, and don't even get me started on his smile.

my eyes traveled down to the small tag pinned to his shirt, it read "Even" on it and that's when i found out what his name was.

i handed him a few bucks and he turned around to make my drink. i stood there awkwardly as i waited for it to be finished. not able to take my eyes off of him as he was at work.

when my drink was finally finished, i walked over to the counter and grabbed it. there were a couple napkins already set with the cup for some reason, but i didn't think much of it. i found a table, sat down and began enjoying my drink.

i suddenly spilled a couple drops of my coffee onto my mouth and it was traveling down to my chin. i grabbed the napkin but before i could wipe my mouth, i saw a number written on the paper.

"(xxx) xxx-xxxx - even :)"

it was a number.

his number.

my eyes darted up to him, and to my surprise, he was already looking at me with an innocent smile. i blushed and couldn't help but smile back.
